Nikita Gusev Would Be Intriguing Plan B Option If New York Rangers Fail to Land Artemi Panarin
Gusev, like Panarin, made a name for himself in the KHL. Vegas Golden Knights’ current cap crunch could make him available.
You may be asking yourself, “why Gusev?” but there are a couple of reasons why he could help round out the Rangers’ top six. The first reason is that the Rangers may be able to acquire him on the cheap and sign him to a contract that’s considerably less than what Panarin will command.

I dont need to, I already know who he is. KHL numbers do not have a correlation on a players output in the NHL. |

Panarin was "24" his first year in the NHL. I use the quotes because I assume the Russians are all at least 2 years older than they claim to be.
Gusev was the highest scorer(12) at the Olympics, make of that what you will. Derek Roy had the 3rd most(7), also make of that what you will. |

Lets get the band back together; Roy, Vanek, and Pommer.
I have nothing against taking russians, if I was a GM I would take one each year somewhere between rounds 2-7, statistically they have a higher hit right. Just dont want this one. |

How has Kovelchuk's return going? He was over a PPG in the K too. There is no correlation between points and the two leagues. |

I mean it depends on what they want for him. A mid round pick? Done. Nylander? Done. |

How can you not want to take a chance on a guy that is 2nd in the history of the KHL with a 82 point season ( think about the players that came from there Dadonov,Radulov, Panarin

Because there are assets that are proven available. His one year ELC is done. So idk what the cap hit will be, and it will cost something to acquire.
Not worth it. I could be wrong, but I rather go after something that will have a higher chance at improving the team. |

He was tearing it up in that very same KHL. So when you use KHL stats as a reason to bring in Gusev, it should be a shock to you.
But then again you are the type that says Murray doesnt get any credit for late round picks, but botts gets the blame for not taking CHL players in the later rounds. |

If you use Gusev stats in the KHL as a reason why he would be good in the NHL, you cannot dismiss Kovie's stats from the KHL and how ordinary he has been. |

By that logic, botts cannot get the blame for not taking CHL players in the later rounds. You cannot have it both ways, it is a contradiction. |

Yep he gets credit |

Kovie has 63 points in 53 games in the KHL the year before he came to the NHL. Not 36.
IT IS AN EXAMPLE THAT PLAYERS IN THE KHL WITH HIGH NUMBERS DO NOT COME TO THE NHL AND TEAR IT UP.
Do you understand basic logic? |
