Wife was saying she thought I could use a bit more vitamin C in my diet. I had to goggle but I found a solution. Alabama slammer. It's not bad. |

Yeah, i had Stetcher and Tanev reversed in my mind initially, but when I saw Carol framing it like the above, i though the same thing.
Allows Stetcher to potentially play a more offensive game with Edler
Hughes and Myers could be mobile and interesting, and it's important to have some size to shelter Hughes.
Then you got a good defensive shut down pair with Benn and Tanev.
Hopefully Benn is blocking those shots and allowing Tanev to avoid getting hit by pucks. - dbot
Heard Stecher is using Tanev's shooting coach who taught Steve Stamkos how to shoot and to a 60 goal season. |

Also from capfriendly depth charts the AVS new top 6
Landeskog MacKinnon Ratanen
Burakovsky Kadri J.T. Compher
That's not all that impressive for a top 6. That's real top heavy - manvanfan
They have space to add another player (Johansson or Ferland would probably come on slightly discounted tickets now that they're July 2 players), Jost still has room to grow and with Kadri there to run matchups I'd bet Landeskog lines up with him on a regular basis and they load the top line just for the situations that call for it. |

If you’re drinking slammers you need at least two friends, and three straws (paper, glass or stainless of course) - boat race. |

I think dropping Tanev down to third pairing would really help reduce his injuries. The additions of Hughes, Myers and Benn (who apparently plays much better on the right side) is huge for the Canucks.
Edler Stecher
Hughes Myers
Benn Tanev - Pacificgem
Tanev's injuries come from his play style so I'm not sure how much reducing his minutes, which I don't really think they'll do anyway, is going help much.
His entire plan to break out the puck is to hold onto the puck, pass it to his partner .2 seconds before the hit, and then take the hit. Shot blocking injuries are going to be hard to prevent as well. |

Fine with the free agent signings, should have 3 pairs that can all play 18-22 minutes per game, with some getting sheltered minutes.
Colorado did well, getting a legitimate 2nd line centre, although, he is a douche.
Makar easily replaces Barrie and with Byram and Timmons, in the system, they will be a powerhouse team, very shortly. |

Great moves by the Canucks. Absolutely better today than yesterday and for sure more addition by subtraction to come. Sutter, Tanev, Bear cheese, little things all are probably gone by opening day. Or I’m on crack and this last scenario is all a pipe dream. - Supirium99
I really don’t get why so many of you think tanev is going anywhere. He’s been the best guy in our end for 6-7 years now since hamhuis declined. |

Nah.
Blocks shots and unlike Tanev doesn't seem to take half a year off.
But.
this team is jinxed, so. he'll probably break a leg in pre season. |

Their options for 2nd line wingers are as follows:
Lucic, Granlund, Gagner, Yamamoto and Benson.
I'd didn't think I'd see a depth chart again where Granlund might be near the top of it. |
