Wow that is rough. They could really use a Eberle or Hall type
I do like yamo and benson but ya, im pretty happy. - neem55
I think Benson is kind of going to be like Leivo. Its not ideal to have him in your top 6 but he can fill in a pinch and make your third line not totally offensively inept.
Yamamoto, much like Pulijarvi, has been yanked around way too much by that org. They gotta come up with a plan and stop changing it every time they tie their shoes. |

Tanev's injuries come from his play style so I'm not sure how much reducing his minutes, which I don't really think they'll do anyway, is going help much.
His entire plan to break out the puck is to hold onto the puck, pass it to his partner .2 seconds before the hit, and then take the hit. Shot blocking injuries are going to be hard to prevent as well. - Lindenis#1
You're right that some injuries are hard to prevent. Like tanev taking a puck in the face deflecting off a stick. Broken jaw if I remember correctly. It's because he's always in the thick of it. Can't prevent those injuries. |

You might be able to taper that down somewhat, but this is a Playoff or Bust season for the team. Tanev's game is too appealing for the old school how-to-win part of Green's brain that I don't see him still using him for 21, unless he shows he just can't do it, a night which isn't really down from what he was playing before.
Especially if he's on a D pair with Jordie Benn, I don't see a lot of clean separations, break ups and exits in transition for that pair so they'll be clearing their zone via grunt work. |

I have never liked giving up picks in the top 2 rounds, like Benning has done, since he got here, but, I have to say, I like the roster, moving forward.
Some additional sandpaper, would be nice to acquire, although, after Brock is signed, this team, will again be near the upper cap limit.š£ |

The team is likely to exceed the cap for next season, without a major cut somewhere, because of Petey and Hughes hitting various numbers in their ELC bonuses. |

Itās unbelievable to me that the Canucks are always near the cap max during Benningās tenure but theyāve finished 23rd overall, 2nd last, 3rd last, 6th last and 9th last
But like you, I like things as theyāre seemingly moving forward. The loses and decent drafting have produced three good young players in Boeser, Pettersson and Hughes, add Horvat to that and things are taking shape despite the massive missteps with spending. |

If the idea is for the top nine to shake out something like:
Miller-Petey-Brock
Roussell-Horvat-Pearson
Baertschi-Gaudette-Virtanen
Then that leaves Goldy and Leivo (probably around 1.9 each by the time its said and done), Schaller (1.9), Motte (1.1-ish), Beagle (3m), Sutter (4.4 m), and Eriksson (6m) on your 4th line/press box/AHL burial
Mix in the Spooner buyout and the team might have somewhere upwards 19-20 mil between the 4th line, press box, and AHL demotion overture charges
I wonder what Benning's mortgage and phone contracts look like. |

Pavelskiās 35 years old in ten days, I donāt think anyone would offer him more than three years, but yes to the others. |

Their options for 2nd line wingers are as follows:
Lucic, Granlund, Gagner, Yamamoto and Benson.
I'd didn't think I'd see a depth chart again where Granlund might be near the top of it. - Lindenis#1
No problem they have Smith in goal. |
