Canuck fans by now should have figured out this and to just not expect as much as JB tells them.

I have said Myers is a good 3rd pairing defender. He's an upgrade over Schenn and Biega. That's how I am viewing it.

I'm not big on Myers either but he is a solid 3-4 slot dman than can get you 30 points. Healthy too back to back 80 game seasons. he's not a 5-6 slotter.

He’s simply not that good of a defender. Weve all watched hutton and he’s better than that and most of you loved him, so ya what’s the big deal. Stick him with edler and shelter him. He will produce more than ben and is better defensively.

If we get Loui and Sutter off the books we'd be in decent shape. At least one of them.

Precisely. I watched a ton of Jets games this year and really hate to say it this way he's just a larger/healthier version of Edler. He has defensive lapses like Edler does IMO. And Edler played 30 less games than Myers and had more points lol

I like the Benn pick up alot. But you won't be blown away by Myers IMO. A solid 3-4 slot dman can work PP2. Can get you 30 points but that's pretty much where it ends.

we'll finally have 4 top 4 dmen now(when/if healthy)

not to mention a 3rd pairing that can actually be trusted to play 15-18 minutes a game and step up in a 2nd pairing role for stints when an injury happens.


Pipedream now would be to find another legit top 6 winger somehow. Gusev would be sweet.

Don’t think anyone is expecting a first line player, just a solid enough RHD. Gives us two good second-pairings, but no top pairing D (yet). Things will be a bit more stable until the injuries hit.
