If they buy him out this year, its 5.5 on the cap for the next 2 years, 3.5 the year after and then .5 for 3 years after.

There's literally no point to buying him out other than a contract spot on the 50 man, but whatever contract replaces it will exceed Loui's value right now and this team doesn't need more dead money on its cap.

Yup, its 2/3 the remaining base salary, plus the signing bonus money, so its basically buyout proof until the final year where they could get the cap hit down to $4m
