Some more than others. Bowman had everything needed. Hossa was an essential add but he still had more than any gm can ask for to work with - neem55

Add JR to the list - Nighthawk
For sure. There are a bunch really. Seems like the nature of the league a bit. If Gillis won he would have been on the top of the list too. Burke/Nonis gift wrapped a core for him. He managed to sign a great ufa and squander draftpicks like they were raffle tickets. |

Does anyone know if it's possible to miss the playoffs next year , but still surrender the 2020 pick ? |

I asked that the other day, if it was like Ottawa and Col, or if it was auto. Didn't get a firm answer on that. |

The wording I heard was if the Nucks miss it gets differed, but if we just miss and think the next draft is deeper , is it in our control to choose? |

I wonder if there is enough of a rift in Dallss between Jaime Benn and ownership, that we could get him and send LE back as a part of the money needed to make it happen? Obviously it would also require some pieces of value, but maybe Jaime gives them the Kesler treatment, and we get luckey |

If TG plays Myers Edler
Stecher Benn
Tanev Hughes
We will be better, and if Marky can keep it up , right from the start , we will compete. Our PP needs to be top10 though |

I wasn't aware it was in his 1st year but regardless, he reinvented the team a few times over in his 22 years. - SMBDragon
Plus DET had maybe THE BEST AHL development system going for alot of years. |

Yes, but the point was that he inherited players like every other GM, the 98 and 2002 teams for sure, the exception would be 2008, I guess, he’d been on the job ten years at that point. - Pacificgem
The 1998 team yes was similar to Burke's situation in ANA when he inherited that 2007 Stanley cup Ducks team. But like Burke, Holland still had to add pieces to obtain that cup in 98 and especially in 2002 where he added Chelios, Hasek, Hull, Robataille and few others that were instrumental in that championship. I'd say by 2002 he had his mark on that club for sure and 2008 was all Holland. |

All RFA's without contracts. Why Aho for Montreal?
Aho was drafted 12 spots behind Boeser in the 2015 draft. |
