Cause he actually signed a good contract, unlike the many bad ones of the past. The contract itself does make him more tradable. I don’t really know how to say it more clearly, all the bonuses end after three years thus making the last few years designed to make a trade easier to make. It’s all i was pointing out. Of course how he plays also dictates his value, no one has ever said otherwise. The contract is good. Think of it with any other mid tear point at the position player. Ie if 29 year old edler got that, good contract.

There's no bonus year 3. It's year 4 on September 1st.

The contract is better than feared no doubt, and there is no need to protect him for the expansion draft which is another positive.

Again, I'll wait to see how it plays out before calling it a good contract. I am happy that it's a 5 year deal as opposed to higher though.

I don't even care about the Myers signing. I'm just kind of numb about it because the original reports were so bad in comparison it seems like a great deal.

I don't love the clauses, although at least he's eligible for the expansion draft. I'd feel much better if he had a limited NTC year 3 and none year 5.

Also, with the signings of Myers and Benn why would anyone think there's room on the roster for Schenn?
