This is what i was talking about when people were suggesting that TML's were stuck in cap hell and would need to move Nylander for pennies on the dollar...there are always GM's out there willing to help a team out. - dbot
Don't tell that to anyone who disliked the Miller trade. |

CapFriendly has the Canucks with $8.744 in room.
Boeser and Goldobin are RFAs. Boeser gets $7? |

Consider they shed kadri, who always seems to be a problem. |

WOW. I don't think Colorado valued Barrie AT ALL. That's an absolutely horrible trade by Colorado. - manvanfan
Rosen will play for the AVs, he's NHL ready. They only had 1 year of Barrie, they get 3 years of Kadri at 4.5. |

The AVs really helped the Leafs by holding onto cap space. I think both teams did well. The Leafs have other young D to replace Rosen with more upside after this year. Losing Kadri is tough if you're the Leafs though. His value in the playoffs always became noticeable by his absence. |

Kadri had 32 gosals two years in a row before being demoted by Tavares. I think Avs won this hands over first. Barrie has one year left and TO has cap problems even next year. |

Joe Sakic runs away laughing from the Duchene deal. Dubas blows 5 deals in a row and somehow Dubas fleeces Sakic badly! - manvanfan
Feel like people are underestimating contract values in this deal
Barrie might be better or as good as Kadri, but Kadri’s contract makes him worth more than Barrie.
4.5M for a 2LC for 3 years is a great contract |

Colorado got something for a guy that was going to walk.
Kadri can play 2C in Colorado, plus a pick and prospect.
But Kadri has some baggage.
TML still won this deal imo.
Addition of Barrie is huge on the backend.
Subtraction of Kadri should also help...the guy is a royal douche. |

I've seen worse deals but first impression, Toronto wins this. Kerfoot is an RFA though. |

You know Kerfoot is 4 years younger and had 2 less points than Kadri did last season. |

Leaves get a rental. If Dubas can’t convince him to stay that’s a bad trade. |

At first glance I thought Dubas is gm of the year. After looking at the teams and scenarios its pretty good for both teams really. That Kadri contract to me though is the kicker. After thinking the leafa killed them at first I think the Avs won the deal but it works for both sides. |
