Maybe? Doable. - aecliptic
I think statsny is too expensive to happen. Also Goose egg will probably be looking for more money. Having Panarin is amazing but it pretty much ties their hands as far as any substantial acquisitions. |

Fast on the 3rd line ahead of Strome and Howden? I don’t like that lineup to be honest. Gusev weighs 154 lbs, blah blah blah skull speed blah blah, he’s still 154 lbs. I don’t like Stastny either, I don’t get going out and getting a 34 year old that’s gone over 50 points once in the last 5 years. Let Chytil Andersson and Howden develop. We have Stastny in Strome, I think Strome has a good year this year. |

Personally, Im all for playing this out and trying to keep Kreider (if the yrs and $ is right). It would be nice to find ourselves a more proven 2C though. We need someone to come and teach the kids how to work the faceoff dot, we were atrocious. |

Vegas doesn't have to get rid of both Gusev and Stastny, they have to get rid of Gusev so they don't have to get rid of Stastny.
They need to trade Gusev for picks, put Clarkson on LTIR and they are finished |

I don’t see them adding Statsny cap hit (it’s quite large) with Gusev.
Gusev will apparently take 2 years at 4 mill a year, so the contract isn’t bad at all. It’s a risk since he’s never played in the NHL, but I think he’s very much worthy of an offer. Him and Kravtsov could be a nice tandem
The problem is Vegas can’t dump salary on us anymore, and we’ll have another RFA to sign. You could get a 3rd team involved I guess, which would be fun! |

Regarding all of these “other” moves people want to make, I think we’re pretty much done except moves to remove cap space. I’ve been a huge fan of getting rid of the old and in with the new as you all know, but I’m finally at the point with this team that we should see how we look before making any other moves. Going out and getting 34 year old Stastny isn’t the direction of this team anymore. Now we have to be patient with the guys we’ve drafted and let them develop, I can assure you unless we’re blown away with something we’re not trading 20 year old former 7th overall pick Lias Andersson after his first 49 NHL games or any of the other young guys we’ve acquired. |

Gusev means one of Andersson Howden Chytil are sent to Hartford. There’s just not enough roster spots, do we really want to stunt the growth of one of them for a guy that’s 27 and never played on NHL ice before? I’d rather let the kids show what they got, I’d even be willing to let Andersson start the year as the 2C playing with high skill players to try and give him some confidence. |

Would you guys be against bringing in Marleau on a 1yr deal? Should they make a move for someone more legit at 2C? The team is super young and Marleau can still play and hes the kind of guy you want in the locker room to talk to be there for the young guys. |

That’s an interesting idea. Don’t think it’s the worst idea in the World but not sure the player would want to sign a one year deal.
Good guy with young players as well. |

My question would be, can Gusev be more productive then Buch...they’ll both get the same deal pretty much imo 2 x 3-4 million (in that range).
But in reality, since Panarin is here now the cap room and lineup room is pretty limited atm. It’s tough to see them adding any more players of any kind really |

I thought it was SJ or bust for him. Valliquette mentioned earlier that they do wanna add a little leadership / veteran presence tho. I’da took Perry for a year, but he gone |

I think Quinn is going to be a great coach for this team. 32 wins from that lackluster line up last year?! Work hard or sit! He held everyone accountable and they played with a lot of heart. Add some talent (done) and I think the sky is the limit - BFR
I can't think of a time when I enjoyed watching a losing team like I did watching the Rangers this year. Quinn was responsible for the accountability, hard work, a never give up attitude. It will only get better with a much improved/talented roster. He's perfect for this you ng up and coming team |

I think so. At worst, he's gonna hand the team over to someone else in a few years when we're ready to take that next/last step. |

Bigger ice, less hitting/physical play. Even Johnny hockey has 10+ lbs on this guy and he’s probably the lightest in the league. |

Or I don’t want to add a 27 year old that’s never played a game on NHL ice? |

Hes got Strome slotted as the 2C. Cant say his logic is wrong. - aecliptic
Don't see another option, and I want to give Strome the chance to prove last season was not an anomaly. I really do like his game. |
