Wow...really?
I was just joking about Lehrner. His speech at NHL awards took alot of guts. I give him all the credit in the world. If we can't joke about poopty things in life, how could we cope!?
I do see my share of mental illness being a special Ed. teacher, and I see 1st hand how Lithium and other meds can do more harm than good sometimes. - rrentz
Didn't see the speech, but read his article on the Player's Tribune. Those chemicals can be useful for short-term help in most cases, but nobody has a (insert drug name here) deficiency. She was on Lithium when we got married in'94 and it made her gain weight. Been on a number of drugs over the last 30 years with various (groping at straws) diagnosis. Bottom line, counseling and a really stable home life (surprise) enabled her to sort out the childhood issues she was never able to resolve, but still unable to get off the sauce since she was physically addicted. Watched a podcast with my favorite biomechanist Katy Bowman, and up next was Michael Pollan. Thinking it was a new book about food, loved The Omnivore's Dilemma, I tuned in to find it is a book about resetting your brain using psychedelics called How to Change Your Mind. We watched the podcast together, read the book and booked the trip. Spent almost 3 agonizing months getting off the stuff, went down there with withdrawal symptoms, took the "trip" and came out of it with no withdrawal symptoms. Stuff is mostly used for opiates, but also woks for pharmaceuticals. Neither of us has ever smoked pot, so this was a pretty big leap and it worked out. Plant medicine might not be for everyone, or you might have to be in the right physical and mental place to take this on, but I can tell you that this worked for us.
Sorry for the long personal post, but this "literally" changed our lives.
Also, my best friend's son is autistic and will blow through the soles of his shoes on the balls of his feet before his heels ever touch the ground. ![](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/lol.gif) Going to be a kick-ass accountant!

Lehrner really opened up, and it was a great platform for him tp bring more awareness about mental illness.
Sorry to hear about what your wife and you have gone through over the years! I'm honored that you'd share your story w/ me/us. Glad to hear that the worm has turned for you guys. Treatments vary for everyone, and it's great to hear that more organic treatments are working, albeit a short time, for your wife. Hope she continues to get well and enjoy life.
In response to your comment about your friend's son.....autism is something that I encounter on a daily basis. My heart goes out to the parents who have a child on the spectrum. I get to go home when my work day is done, but it's the parents who struggle on a daily basis to help their child.
On a lighter note.......................Panarin is a RANGER!!!! |

Dam right!
If NYR is gonna spend big $$ on FAs I'd much rather the route taken w/ Panarin...being a younger GOAL scorer. |

Lost in the Panarin signing, Hartford signed 3 older free agents today. One of them was Tom McCollum a 29 year old goalie.
If Hank and Georgie are Rangers, Shesty and Huska should be with the Wolf Pack. So why a 5th goalie? Hmmm... |

O.K. "Mama Dundee". Or wasn't it "Dundee's Wife" for your former avi?
But you completely forgot about Bickell, until I reminded you of him just a few hours earlier. |

It's mainly likely due to Shestyorkin, (also spelled Shesterkin), having that clause in his Two Year Entry level Contract, that would allow him to return to Russia, should the Rangers ever assign him down to Hartford. That would be in the event he loses out to Georgiev (if not traded), the role of initially becoming Hank's backup.
This Larry Brooks article I recall from back in mid April, clearly depicts that matter, despite management feeling Shesty would report to Hartford if needing game time in the AHL to adjust to the game style played here, as opposed to the one in Russia.
https://nypost.com/2019/0...in-kravtsov-amid-rebuild/
It could also be due in part to wanting more depth in goal at Hartford in case either Shest, Huska, or anyone else struggles, or suffers a serious injury. |

Where though? Fla got Bob, CGY got Talbot, Lehner to Chi, Smith to EDM, I doubt SJ moves Jones. Who else needs a goalie? CBJ?
Kreider and Georgie to CBJ for J. Andersson? Similar numbers and size to Kreider but better contract and 3 years younger, that’s what we give them Georgie for. |

yeah, you are definitely right
since the Rangers didn't qualify and let Brandon Halverson walk I was thinking they were going into season with Hank/Georgie and Huska/Shesty but lets see what happens |

I did a little armchair GM magic, heres the breakdown:
Trouba: 7 x 7.75m
DeAngelo: 2 x 2.5m
Buchnevich: 2 x 2.5m
Lemieux: 3 x 1.5
Kakko: max ELC
Not making any other moves and working with an 81.5m (is this official?) salary cap. Were at 86m. A buyout of Brenden Smith will put us at 81.9m. Next year with guys coming off the books we will have 14m in cap space (if the cap does not go up) to resign Kreider with (and Fast if we feel like it). Those are our only financial obligations next year. I think keeping Kreider is VERY doable. Especially if they take DeAngelo and Buchnevich to arbitration and win. |

Gorton’s bread and butter are RFA contracts.
He always gets the guys to sign for less than expected |

the Rangers are actually vulnerable to an offer sheet for them of them at the moment
somebody could sign Buch to a deal worth 4 mil a year and the compensation would only be a 2nd

...and I wouldnt blame them for doing so. Honestly, I think hes worth more than the 2.5m I put down, especially with some skill guys. Honestly, were at a logjam at RW. As it stands, we have 5 fully capable RW to start the year: Kakko, Buch, Kravtsov, Fast, Strome (and Nam).
DeAngelo has this DeZotto feel about him, I dont know.. something weird there. |

what's cool about the Rangers current situation is that Trouba has to be signed and that literally will take the rest of their cap, and then they still have deAngelo, Buch and Lemieux to be signed
so you know moves have to be made, and that's exciting. |

Based on my math, buying out Brenden Smith pretty much solves the cap problem. |

He has a $4.35 million contact for this year. You don’t get 100% relief from buying him out. If bought him out and dealt Nam with minimal salary assumed, that would likely create enough room. |

What about some of the smaller contracts? Like if Shatty/Smith and they deal like a Fast or Boo. Does that work? |

it's good though, his cap hit for 2019-20 would only be 970K if they bought him out
jumps up to 3.145 mil the following season, but it would really help this coming season |
