Good third liners:
Sheary, Vesey

Good fourth liners:
Okposo, Rodrigues

That gets me to 7 guys I actually need on the team. Give CJ smith the other fourth line spot or Asplund. Give Oloffson a shot in the top six. Pray Middlestadt can centre the third line. Now I'm at ten.

Basically, I need two top six forwards, and I don't care if they are wings or centres. Get me one for Risto, and then I need Botts to work one more magic trade like he did for Miller or Skinner.

I think I’ve come to an early sense that this team is going to play another meaningless season next year.

This team was so so bad, last year and the year before.

They can’t score and still have not addressed that issue.

Vesey for Pommer is an even swap

And they still have the worst player in the league in Sobodka penciled in as 3/4C

I would personally want Toffoli over Hoffman. Both are rentals, I just feel Toffoli would be a little cheaper to get, and is a little younger.

No, what I mean is, if you go into the season w out securing a #2 center with the reasoning that you're going to "try" Sam there, and it's a failure, then what?

We have quite a few centers? Gerry Meehan, Adam Creighton are better players now then sobotka, Larsson and girgensons. They are horrible hockey players

IMO, Toffoli = Okposo.

Okposo scored 1 more goal than Toffoli did. Had 5 less points, yet most fans can’t stand him and want him to retire.

Toffoli is going to get 6+ on his next deal and it will be one you want to get out of 2 years after signing it.

Most of the NHL goes on vacation after July 1. I know a lot of the big “insiders” do that normally have the breaks.

Vesey would have single handedly drove the Sabres to the playoffs though.

Why take pommer out of the lineup, instead of someone who didnt score 16 goals last season.

I think it's more likely that regardless of who his center is, he scores more at wing than center. And what's the loss of production at wing look like with Reinhart playing center.

The other thing I would say is that I think Reinhart at 3C makes more sense than 2C. He can be defensively responsible, but I think it's unlikely that he's a 55 point 2C. Or even a 45 point 2C. That's just my opinion.

If you put him at center, you have to give him the best wings possible, which would be Skinner and I guess sheary
