Money Mitch is elite

Pat Kane 3 years in league -230 pts
Money Mitch 3 years in league 224 pts

Don’t play games

"Money" Mitch is very good. He is not Pat Kane, or Pat Kane Jr. Or whatever you want to call him.

Come talk to me when he puts up 110 points with Drake Caggiula and Artem Anisimov.

What I want to know is, how bad ARE Drake Caggiula and Artem Anisimov if they can't get 60 points by accident, playing with Kane? 😂

Toews had a bit of a resurgent year playing with Kane a fair amount(~30% of Kane's EV minutes), but those guys... pretty astonishing.

Let's look at it another way.

I believe team chemistry is huge.

A new coach, a couple new assistant coaches, a few new NHL players, a couple promotions from the A perhaps, etc.

This can go a long way.

They have a #1 C (Eichel)
A budding franchise Dman (Dahlin)
(as it stands right now) a few really good top 4 D (Risto, Montour, Miller)
A decent bottom pair D in Jake and Bogo (or if one or more D is traded, Scandella and or Nelson should see a nice reduction in minutes, which can only help)
A #1 LW (Skins)
A #1-2 RW (Sam)
A rookie that has us all salivating (VO)

They have the makings of a really nice 3rd line (Vesey, Mitts, Sheary)

The 4th line has a really great anchor in ERod.

If the team buys into what Ralph is selling (and by ALL accounts, he's a guy that players will go through a brick wall for), and plays the system and for each other, who knows?

They still need a 2C and 2W. Go get Ferland or Johansson and then facilitate a trade for the C.

Meanwhile, Cozens, Samuelsson, Asplund, UPL, Laaksonen, Borgen, Pekar, Ruotsalainen can continue to develop.

(waits for rebuttals 😂)

I agree. If we can get a 2C and Ralph is a Zaubermacher I think we can surprise people

I think people have different definitions of what defense is in hockey in this era.

From 2016-18 Colin Miller ranks 7th among all D men in expected goals against per/60 - minimum 1500 minutes

He’s 3rd among D men in expected goals for %

5th in scoring chances against per 60

He’s legitimately dominant as a 3rd pairing D man.

There’s no reason to think he can’t play with a superstar like Dahlin or anchor a second pair.

We got a really good player

Career 54.5% D-Zone starts vs Miller with 37.3% career D-Zone starts.

Because he never actually played in the defensive zone. It's real easy to not allow goals when you start less than 40% of the time in your own zone.

I get it. Still not sure who plays with Dahlin. Far as I can tell, neither Montour, nor Risto, nor Miller, nor Bogo should have that role.

Idk what the vision is there.

Balls to the wall outlet passes and forget traditional defense is what the vision seems to be

Kessel had 37 points in his second full NHL season. Some take longer then others to develop, what Mittelstadt did at the WJC was absolutely stunning. I have faith he’s going to be a high end 2C for a long time.

There will be some more money spent up front no doubt, and yes I know this projected lineup is a few years ahead.

One of the Vegas hockey writers was on Dope & the Bulldog yesterday, and said that Miller is actually BETTER suited to play w a more offensive, puck moving, mobile Dman (which I thought was interesting, since his #'s are of a more offensive, puck moving mobile Dman 😂)
