Permanently etched in my memory. Still can't believe he missed.... if third down woulda got just one fukking yard closer... Watched at a friend of a friends house party full of NYC transplant Sopranos wannabes & fukking dolphin fans.... Football sucks

Wasn’t Norwoods fault.

Marv got out coached.

Had he handed the ball off to Thomas more and held the ball it would’ve opened up the pass. Thurman was unstoppable that game.

They don’t own the history.

Arizona’s all time point leader is Shane Doan.

Hawerchuk is nowhere to be found.

If Quebec comes back into the league they’ll get their name and stats back.

Winnipeg's all-time goal leader is Kovalchuk and he never played a game there.

Definitely got out coached but Kelly called the plays in the no-huddle offense.

According to wiki, the coyotes own the history

"In 2011 the Atlanta Thrashers franchise relocated to Winnipeg and restored the Jets name, altough the prior Jets club history is retained by the Arizona club (the new Jets did acknowledge the original Jets as part of the 2016 Heritage Classic festivities)."

It could be wrong though

They don’t. Winnipeg does. The NHL controls that.

There’s a reason Dale Hawerchuk isn’t listed as Arizona’s all time point leader, Shane Doan is.

- dadeadhead

Stats aside. Arizona owns the original logo and Jersey. I'm certain of it.

What? Hartford became Carolina. Those are their jerseys. North Stars didn’t become the Wild. Not even close to the same.
- Hatboro_Swords

It would be like the Calgary Flames wearing Atlanta Flames jerseys when playing the new Winnipeg Jets, who will eventually be wearing the old Winnipeg Jets' uniforms, which are currently owned by the Arizona Coyotes... Who thankfully, have never even considered a Jets throwback.

It's not cool. It's a slap in the face to Harford fans. Imagine if the Sabres relocated to Kansas City and got renamed the Armada and 10 years later wore Buffalo Sabres Royal Blue throwbacks.

No big deal, right?

Not sure if you remember but when Carolina won the cup, there was an owners kid with a Hartford jersey on the ice.

So if New Jersey wears the Colorado Rockies jerseys, do avalanche fans get mad?

I think NJ actually has the Barons history as well as the Rockies

Doan is the Jets/Coyotes' all-time points leader because he had more points than Hawerchuk (972 vs 929). The points Hawechuck scored on other teams don't count toward his franchise ranking. Also, Doan played his first season in Winnipeg, anyway. Hawerchuk does hold a few franchise records.

The Coyotes are still the original Jets franchise.

Pretty sure the Barons were merged with the North Stars.

No, because Winnipeg is Atlanta.

There are no old Jets players here:

Edit: Hawerchuk is 2nd all-time points for Arizona.

That's just Arizona. Doan's points are off, shy 17 points he got in Winnipeg. Numminen is missing about half his points.

No doubt. Never have I blamed Norwood for that miss. As I said, if only they'd gotten him one yard closer...it was there for the taking, without putting it on Norwood's shoulders at the end. Parcells D forced the Bills into too many three and outs, and then OJ Anderson-ed them to death. Marv never slowed his horses down, even if just to give his D some rest. T.O.P 40 to 20 is the damning stat.

So Sakic and Forsberg et al only get their points back if and when Quebec gets another team? That makes no sense.

That was all when my family moved south and hockey ceased to exist, (except for the Olympics) for many years. Funny, I remember player trading card-like stickers from Topps, and KC Scouts and Colorado Rockies players were all posed studio pics (Flames, too) as they were brand new teams. So, KC became NJ, where did the Rockies go? Did they merge with KC and become the Devils as Cleveland merged with Minnesota?
