I'm not going to play this game. There's range of success between where we are, and cup contenders.

I believe that we should have done more to bridge that divide up until this point so we end up further along on the spectrum of success.

Vesey and Wilson. Wonderful. Vesey will replace Pominville's 15 goals.

Now you're going to tell me that if we're not going to be contenders this year, we don't have to worry about getting better this year.

Go for it

Shouldn't you be heading towards one?

I’m done with the Excuses supposedly the problem was that Phil Housley was holding them back

So what’s going to be the excuse this year.

- gerbe75pts

its a poopty roster.. phil may have made them worse but that was not a playoff caliber roster, anyone who used that as an excuse was not honest with themselves

Rickard Rakell would be absolutely perfect here but I doubt the ducks would do that they love him in California

Rakell is interesting but I would be underwhelmed.

You know who this wouldn’t have happened too.

Cole Caulfield.

He would have avoided the hit all together by doing a back flip over the defender while still controlling the puck in the zone.

Caufield doesn’t get hurt, he hurts you.

Don’t know I just hear the name and I think good player but it doesn’t really fill the 2C need.

Just a couple of quick thoughts, while probably playing devils advocate.

1. not sure who Rochester lost this season but Im kinda thinking some of those signings were to replace Olaf and Alex. We shall see

2. I read earlier that Lazar replacing Pomminville is a net loss. In my eyes Vesey is the one replacing Pommer.

3. I really cant see Sobotka being here, however it ends

"Anaheim – After trading Montour to Buffalo for the left-handed Brendan Guhle, the Ducks are thin on the right side with Josh Hanson and Korbinian Holzer. Anaheim is no longer a Stanley Cup favorite, but adding Ristolainen to a group that includes Ryan Getzlaf, Adam Henrique and Cam Fowler would go over well. Versatile Rickard Rakell is one of the few forwards without a no-trade clause."

They have 10 NHL defensemen (man I wish that was the case in 05/06) I see at least two guys being moved.

It’s only July 2nd.

Just when we think this team can't get any more dysfunctional, they waste a draft pick on JV. I absolutely hate this move as why do we keep bringing in players that do not want to be here? I would rather see a kid promoted from Rochester to use a roster spot...He won't re-sign here so why would we bother.

Lehner also came out and said the Isles did him dirty by offering him low term and money. They gave him an ultimatum and when he came back to try to get a little more money they had already moved onto Varlamov.

That's why he ended up in chicago.
