And we're overloaded on rights currently, so you can add correcting handedness to the list of reasons to do it.

6.8M x 5 is fine with me. You aren't going to get him for 3 years and I think the return for Risto makes that worth it.

I actually know the guy somewhat. We're not close friends or anything like that, but we do converse every so often through a mutual friend. He can come across as smug, but in person I don't mind him. Like many people, his on-air persona is just that, a persona. He believes the numbers tell just about the entire story, and bases his analysis on that. I don't agree with him on that either. He's also a bit of an odd duck in person too.

Numbers only tell a portion of the story you have to add the eye test to it to get the whole story.

Vesey will be a great add and hopefully the fans of the Sabres will warm up to him as they did with Skinner. If Vesey produces at the same if not better clip than he did at NYR the Sabres will have a very good 2nd line winger.

Buffalo needs to focus on two teams that are in desperate need of Defense and depth as well as cap relief. They already targeted Vegas but Gustav opposite Skinner and Eichel for a #2nd round offersheet would be a perfect fit. Otherwise look at AHL depth and see if Vegas would part with Gustev, who they cant afford now, for Nylander.

Second team is WPG. I have always loved the rumor of Risto for Ehlers. However, if I am Buffalo I might love a package of Risto and either Bogo or Scandella (since WPG needs defense) with 1 or 2 propects for Connor or Laine and Kopp.

This. I've met him a couple of times (I know one of the other guys) and he is pretty bright. I think he might seem arrogant because we aren't used to very opinionated people on this station. He is pretty tame compared to hosts in major markets.

If it was a stand alone deal, I would agree.

I just see this as a way of fabricating or creating assets. Sign Risto replacement for no assets, trade Risto for an asset, that type of thing. 3years 6M isn't getting it done either, I know you agree with that, just pointing out that it isn't a valid option.

IMO any deal for Connor or Laine that includes Bogo or Scandella as a piece coming back is probably a fantasy. You're talking Risto +, unless that prospect we're trading is Cozens.
