I know he hasn’t amounted to much in Calgary but isn’t Sam Bennet a center? Could a change of scenery and a Ralph turn him into a 2C? Or has he turned the corner and I don’t watch the flames?

Clearly he isn’t the vet leadership grit and snarl guy but maybe an interesting option?

TBL F Brayden Point's agent has informed two teams that his client is not interested in signing an offer sheet at this time. Perhaps why Montreal turned their focus to Aho.

I think SB is this, but not sure 'bout the center part. fwiw I'd take him over Sheary as 3w any day. Him, Vesey and Erod/Mitts is a pretty nice 3rd line.

If we add Hoff, Ehlers, Gardiner and lose Risto and McCabe... that’s a great trade off. The top 6 would give me hope for the playoffs. We still have a center issue but we’d be pretty loaded on the wings.

No matter what I think it’ll be tough to be top 8 this year. Too many overpaid players on the final year of their contracts. But adding a Hoff/Ehlers now could be a good step for what could be a very active offseason before 2020-21.

I wouldn't mind Toffoli, I think he would help the RW nicely, to which the Sabres are currently severely lacking...at $4.6m, the contract isn't a killer IF he can return to that 40-45 average. Not for Risto though I agree...maybe McCabe (+) does it?
What are your thoughts there.

I continue to think as far as 2C goes, they should be focused on a guy with 2 - 3 years remaining, IMO. Fits the timeline and acknowledges Mitts and Cozens as future 2 / 3 C's behind Jack.
If that is the vision (not sure what their vision is), then what IS the play for Risto?
