I wouldn't mind Toffoli, I think he would help the RW nicely, to which the Sabres are currently severely lacking...at $4.6m, the contract isn't a killer IF he can return to that 40-45 average. Not for Risto though I agree...maybe McCabe (+) does it?
What are your thoughts there.

I continue to think as far as 2C goes, they should be focused on a guy with 2 - 3 years remaining, IMO. Fits the timeline and acknowledges Mitts and Cozens as future 2 / 3 C's behind Jack.
If that is the vision (not sure what their vision is), then what IS the play for Risto?

I would be ok with Brassard at 2C on a 1 year contract while M its marinates on the 3rd line for this year.

All of these ideas might not work with the cap though. They would need to get Scandella moved to create some space.

Could there be a McCabe++ for Hoffman and then they sign either Gardiner, Del Zotto or Chariot.

Then a Risto trade for Ehlers.

The hold up is on giving up an asset for a one year rental who is going to want to get paid.

After speaking to a specific RFA's agent, it's believed there will be another offer sheet coming. Not sure if it'll be Montreal again or someone different.

TBL F Brayden Point's agent has informed two teams that his client is not interested in signing an offer sheet at this time. Perhaps why Montreal turned their focus to Aho.

Probably waiting for us to get a deal done for a defenseman first

I can’t see us resigning hoff tbh I wouldn’t give him 7-8 million a year
