If im still here b1tching and moaning after the last decade, pretty sure I will be no matter what happens.
That said, Connor demanding a trade might because of our ineptitude might go a long way towards testing that... - HB77
I had to watch Gretzky leave and that was a very tough pill to swallow and I’m not sure I could do the same with McDavid seeing as the circumstances are 100% different

-The worst record of all teams over the last decade.
-4 first overalls.
-One playoff appearance in 12 years.
-Missing the playoffs 3/4 years with the best player in the world.
-The worst group of wingers in the league 9 years after a rebuild.
-9 years after a rebuild, a bottom 10 finish, and no cap space to actually do anything about it. >which has been the case for 2 years now.
- just bought out their 4th best dman on an already weak group and we don’t actually know if they’ll do anything with the money.
-Sellouts every year for 13 years.
-Top 10 in attendance every season for a decade.
-A very real possibility of the leagues best player since Mario demanding a trade if the oilers don’t turn it around very soon cause the organization has long ago reached historic levels of futility.
But super douche here wants people to blindly shake the poms poms for home team cause he’s too stupid to know the difference between rational expectation and blind love.
Oiler fans are the best and most loyal in the league bar none. - HB77
Savage.
And hells yes to that last sentence. Katz doesn’t know how lucky he is. |

Hang on Pee wee;
Kenny is up to something. Perhaps packaging Lucic and a top prospect like Bouchard to the Leafs for Nylander and a first. Something like that is about to go down. Take it to the bank and put it in your savings account.
Puljujarvi will get thrown in mixed with something for something also. Oilers fans got two more potentially ground shaking events coming before season starts. Two more months of summer boys and girls.
So quit crying over your burnt toast. We got a new chef in town. - EdmontonLawyer
I respect your optimism. |

That said, Connor demanding a trade because of our ineptitude of surrounding the best player in the world with even a somewhat competent roster might go a long way towards testing that... - HB77
If that were to happen I would be the first to thank Carol. |

I think in a way he does but being a fan is also the biggest strike against him.....too into the glory days and the old Oilers with not enough foresight to see that it was going to be a disaster

If Connor McDavid demands a trade because this team in the next 2 to 3 seasons are unable to figure it out then I will likely stop following the Oilers all together. It's already bad enough that Nuge was noticeably upset at the year end interviews with one of his major points being just how unstable his tenure has been here between coaching changes and linemates as well. |

That’s not optimism that’s what I would like to call Disney syndrome.....it’s where you think you can stand in a forest and sing and all the animals flock to join you in a perfect moment of harmony

Nuge will be the first one gone and it will be this season if nothing changes before the start of the season.....this is the Nuge farewell tour at the rate things are going

Jurco can win a top 6 role on this team. |

Well Kenny was yapping about getting a 20 goal scorer but prior to saying that he said 5.5 was too rich for Nyquist....I actually got a headache listening to him - RatedR80
Holland really said that? You're last GM spent money like a drunken sailor, and now you've got a cheapskate. |

If he didn’t want to spend the money then that’s fine he could have gone with a trade but he didn’t do that either....we missed out on both the trade market and the FA market....yes he has the summer but as it stands right now we are a lotto team at best

No it’s serious. He’s good. Not crazy special but he has the speed and skill to play with good players and is good along the wall and defensively. A back injury and playing with glendening and miller derailed his career a bit. |

Must admit I know less than (frank) all about him. Just figured Holland was throwing one of his boys a bone. |

I saw him play for Chicago, and I agree that he is good along the boards and has some physical tools, but he didn't seem to have the play making skills to get on the top 6 of your average NHL team. |

To be fair cap space is limited and you don’t really have assets to trade. What was he really supposed to do? |

I’ll have to take your word for it and see how this season goes....with this crop of wings we have now it’s wide open as far as the top 6 goes....he has a chance to sneak in there

Yes. Was 2nd in AHL playoffs scoring for the champions in Charlotte. He is good. Once his back was good he never really got an opportunity to play with good players in Detroit or Chicago. Just look at his first season when he played with Sheahan and Tatar. |

I look at Vesey for a 2021 3rd round pick....that’s not much of a gamble....it’s stuff like that really has me wondering what his plan is.....Dubas didn’t have much space either and he didn’t do too bad |
