Especially because bears can cripple you with an attack before you even know they were there, and then eat you alive.
- Zezel

That too.. lol..

I’m not a pretend Canadian, though..

I’m a little more acquainted with the great outdoors than most ppl you know. Bears are (frank)ing pussies, except for when they’re hungry. Lots of baby animals for them to eat now cause it’s early, then they’ll have berries. But once the berries dry up you gotta be aware. They’re looking to put on weight.

I’ve done many solo trips (Algonquin, Quetico, Pukaskwa etc) and encountered bears many times along portage trails.. just gotta know how to assess the situation.

Nah, Dorion would be offering $10.6M and pitching that "10 + 6 = Your number, Mitch!"

I match both of those fro 2 1st, 2nd and 3rd from a couple playoff bubble teams.

I think it would kill a lot of us to see Mitch as a Hab

I want Dubas to explain to me how CLB swept TB..
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Bobrovsky was better than Vasilevskiy?

It's nerdy, but I had this model I did out of curiosity (it wasn't perfect, but it was better than 50%). It took a team's style of play (where do they generate their changes from - HD, MD, or LD), and how does a team allow chances from those areas, and then the goaltender's performance in each of those areas, and it extrapolated a comparison of those behaviours with a team's expected shot total against the other team. The model suggested Columbus would win, but I didn't pick them, because I didn't give too much credence to the model - I mean who would think they'd beat Tampa?

I bring it up because some styles of play allow chances from some areas more than others (like the Leafs will give you the point all day long), and some teams have the players who capitalize upon those opportunities more than others.

Tampa was bigger and more physical. But Columbus managed to restrict one of the most opportunistic teams in the league, while taking advantage of their chances.

They do need some toughness, tho..

Not Gudbransson, but Ferland is still on the board.

Why did CLB sweep TB? Can anyone explain this?

That's easy. They scored more goals.

I don't hate toughness. I just hate tough players that can't play. God forbid we end up with another Tim Gleason or David Clarkson

I think you're alluding to physical play. It really wasn't that.

Wow, you put a lot into this..

Idk if Tampa was more “physical”, maybe they had more hits, but CLB plays a heavier game. I hear everything you say, and I hope you become the next analytics guru, but under no circumstances should CLB sweep TB.

*insert archer points gif*

STL was gritty. WSH was gritty. Pens were seasoned vets who knew how to win.. you need some guys who can elevate their game when the going gets tough.

Yeah, absolutely, there are no circumstances where CLB should sweep Tampa. Even in the model, the number differences were in Columbus' favour, but not in such magnitude that you'd think, 'Wow! They're going to crush them!'.

Maybe it was the heavy play. The intimidation factor. The hurting factor when they hit. But I mean guys like Hedman are not small.

All true.

I really think they just wanted it more, and doubt crept in after going down 0-2 at home. Also, Bob is a G.

I think TB sailed through the season with little to no adversity and were shell-shocked when CLB female dog slapped them in Game 1 by overcoming a 3-0 deficit. Bob dialed in, while Vasi was mind (frank)ed.

This whole year was a crapfest for Ehlers. He's also only 22. I wouldn't want to write him off yet.

But it's not dissimilar to Gaudreau, Nylander, Monahan, Palat, Johnson . . . and in a small smaple like a single playoff series, look at the Penguins. The entire team sucked.
