Ah. You’ve made way to much out of these two signings in that it really hasn’t made them any worse. They were gonna suck regardless if they were here or not. Now they are capped strapped, but even now it’s not gonna cost us much of anything. I feel Kreider would be on the move if we had 20 million on the cap as opposed to what it is now, he’s just a risky long term player for them now
- Slimtj100

No, they suck and now we can’t get rid of them. They’re problems, bottom line. Nam at 2 million? Ok maybe. 4???? He’s Jesper Fast 2.0. Shattenkirk flat out sucks defensively, maybe he has a rebound year offensively, but if he hasn’t learned to play defense by 30 years old he’s not guna learn now.

Shatty is the same defensively as he always was, just like Yandle was. Nobody really watched those guys before they came so it surprised everyone when they saw a d-zone disaster. Shatty needs to play 3rd line minutes and run the power play. Fox and AD need to watch him run the power play. Once Shatty gets his numbers up, then trade him to a team that's worried about their power play, while we hand ours to Fox/AD.

I know they do lol what I’m saying is what wont happen because they’re here? Nam is gone next year and shatty the year after...they were roster fodder the last two years for crying out loud. They didn’t prevent them from winning the cup, so who gives a frank

Hey, I'm the resident defend Yandle because he gave us everything as advertised. Anyway, yeah that's pretty much the plan they should take. Though I'm still trying to push the try Shatty as the #1 LD angle. I'm not ready to give Skjei the top duty, I don't care how buddy buddy he is with Trouba. Your other options are Staal and Hajek. At least Shatty would give us a legit offensive threat on the top pairing.

You could try ADA there, but being so inexperienced I don't want to jerk his positioning around.

The (frank) given is we need to get rid of about 10 million, those 2 make 10+ million

Trouba had 50 points last year, Shattenkirks career high is 56........Trouba can also play defense. Skjei has a career high 39 points, not a slouch either.

16 more points playing on the 3rd line and 20 games on the 4th line. Miller just got a 1st and 3rd, what’s Namestnikov guna get us? We’re probably going to have to add just to get rid of him.

I hope I'm wrong, but Trouba's 50 pt season screams outlier. Skeji's 25 pts the past 2 years to me is closer to what to expect. ADA's potential is tantalizing, but until him or Fox/Miller/etc develop, he's our best offensive threat back there.

I mean he signed Myers to a decent deal I guess, but he leaves a lot to be desired as a GM

No bc of where we are with our depth. If we needed a top 6 winger and the 1st was lottery protected (which it is) yes. He’s scored 56 and 58 points in 2 seasons, had 47 last year playing on mostly the 3rd and 4th line. AV hated him and it appears Cooper as well. He’s a top 6 winger, I think it was a lot closer than some people think.
What’s the going rate then for a 26 year old winger signed to term with his last 3 seasons being 56 58 and 47?

Everyone on D sucked last year with the exception of ADA. Skjei was the worst in his own zone, but he gets his Richard sucked around here because of his rookie year and we drafted him. Skjei has been brutal since his rookie year and I'm not afraid to say it
