It may parallel Yzerman's path but the big difference is that the Wings owner was willing to spend big bucks on players when they started to become contenders in a non capped era.
But the first few years of his career , the team was brutal but he brought on the revival of the Wings.

If you take the high end of both my $ and term then yeah it is pricey. But I'd do 5M x 1 yr, 4-4.5 x 2 yr or 3-3.5 x 3 yr.
Considering the relatively low $ and term for where he'd be expected to slot into the lineup I'd say it's risky but not that risky. Giving up the 2020 first is what real risk looks like.

Thank god we live in a world where we can disagree, I do not put much value on the stats i n the KHL. It is not the same level of competition, as well as a different style of play. Im not saying they do not have a high level, its just not a consistently high level. |

LA Kings apparently kicked tires on a Pulju trade but Oilers wanted to tag Lucic with him in any potential deal.... my thoughts are what if the Oil retained 2-3M of his deal would it be worth it depending on the return from the Kings? |
