Any chance you'll trade Kreider? He'd be a great fit in Montreal (and would prevent any other "accidents" to happen").

As much as I agree that he's typically negative, he's not wrong here.

All measures - objective and otherwise - point to the fact that Ceci is a terrible defenseman. When Ottawa is bad, Ceci is in the bottom 5 (not like bottom quarter, or bottom 40, bottom FIVE) in pretty much all posession, play driving, and goal prevention metrics. I would *love* for the Leaf Management to somehow figure out something for him. Maybe with different utilization, different responsibilities, being away from the pressures of home . . .maybe a different scene / change - or the realization that this is now his career on the line - I don't know, MAYBE, he becomes a different player.

But for all of our sake, it's best to think of Cody Ceci as someone who is terrible, and give him a chance to surprise us, rather than think he's decent - which he has literally never proven he is - and have him let us down.

The Leafs are a good team. Barrie is an upgrade and will help drive the play from the back-end. But Ceci is objectively worse than Zaitsev, but not by much, since Zaitsev was pretty useless, too. A full year of Muzzin will help, too.

I was once a Leafs follower never a fan being Detroit was my team with Howe as my idol. Once Ballard let Sittler go to Philly & McDonald to the Flames i said enough. So many years of futility & that jack ass tight wad screwed it all up when it finally got good.

If it's up to me, he's gone. Now or at the tdl. He plays up to his potential 10-20 games a season. He's a rare physical specimen and when he wants, he's a top5 power forward in the league. Just doesn't happen often enough...

Last thing I want to do, is give him a 7x7 deal
