Agreed. Matthews can strip a puck off anybody & look good doing it but his advanced defensive numbers show that he is generally poor defensively. It doesn't make any sense at all. It sounds like someone who's trying to increase their social media presence.

The Islanders have maybe $9m in immediate cap space. They can make more, sure, but then Barzal's contract is done at the end of this year. Where is that $9m coming from?

Ya I have no idea what islanders situation is like but I think they were in the hunt for panarin down to the end and I think there was a rumour it was 12 million for him but he left a little on the table for the rangers. They probably have ways to afford marner if it is 12.5 million.
