In all honesty, I think that's the normal routine for most players in the summer. Wake up and meet with the trainer, then go home, shower, and do whatever in the afternoon. - thatsapickle
It’s most definitely a normal routine for a hockey player. |

For an offer sheet between 8-10M, the Sabres need their 3rd rounder.
I don't think the Sabres, like you said, want to pay Laine that much anyway. - thatsapickle
Pretty sure they called about a trade. They're not calling Winnipeg to tell them they're going to offer-sheet Laine. |

He has to pay Reinhart and Dahlin, can't pay everyone 8 or more a year, just won't work. IMO, 8 mill a year is going to be the new starting point for players. I meant offer sheet Conner not Laine but I'm sure the Jets match. |

No!!!
Casey is a fat, Wahlburger-eating slob who does nothing but play video games and doesn't know how to interact with his Swedish roommate, and he'll never amount to anything, and he should have been subjected to 50 lashes with a sweat-soaked Remi Elie Rochester Americans jersey! |

While he does have to pay dahlin and Reinhart .....the leafs Vegas and hawks (in the past) have shown that you can dump away players.
If they want Conner .... pay him what ever and worry about dumping salary later when you have to pay Sam and dahlin |

You have to pay Reinhart after next year, Botterill is not Rutherford, worry about now instead of later, he won't do that. 4 more years of Okposo is a killer, that contracts needs to go. |

If botts wanted to move okposo.... he would have. He had the ammo to do it at the draft.
I agree his contract suck. But it’s not impossible when the time is right |

He didn't have a chance because he never tried, just like he qualified Girgensons and others, he won't lose an asset and he won't buy out players because he doesn't want dead money. |

I feel like that decision will haunt him.
I get that the Okposo buyout is insane and not cost effective, but Sobotka could have been.
If he has a deal where Sobotka is going overseas, then fine. Take whatever savings you get from it and use it to help the team.
Botterill seems to be wise with money, but I won't say he's smart yet. He has a lot to prove. Unload Okposo, and I'll be impressed. |

He will likely get an offer of 2 years for 1.25M per. If Botts sees him in the AHL, then he can walk away from the offer. Or he can still try to get a deal done before the arbitration date.
Elie is the least of my personal worries.
I'm more focused on a right winger, and potentially a second line center.
I still feel like Botts is okay with rolling Casey and ERod as a 2a/2b option. |

Just remember that we're an Eichel ankle away from his speedness Evan Rodrigues playing 1C.
Cannot be acceptable to roll into the season with this depth. Please no one tell me that it's July 5th |

It's a week before July 12th. 😉
There are still free agents left to sign, which will do doubt cause domino's around the league. That's a fact. |

I think he'll do something. Even losing Eichel for 10 games would probably torpedo any chance at a decent season currently. |

Hopefully he trades Casey before he blows up like Chris Farley. |
