I don't get the "excitement" either... its a just a waiting game... the longer it goes for these RFAs without offer sheets ... the less money they will get.

I have questioned Dubas tactics prior to this... but I believe he's played this as well as he could, timing has been good.

The only pertinent question is does Marner want to play in Toronto for 10.5... or a little less... or does he want to got to "Team A" for 11M$.

Getting the second round and getting swept in that round is really an accomplishment to be proud of. I would certainly hang my hat on that if I was an Isles fan.

I think Marner OF is baloney - Dubas can match up to $12.5 if he has to and I think he would. I can't see any team offering $12.5 for 5 to 7 years for MM and also giving up four firsts.

Laine more likely to get an offer sheet. With the so-so season he had and his giant ego, he will likely want alot more than the Jets will offer. He's probably worth a $9 million offer.

He's a back up goalie that will get maybe 15 to 20 games. He'll be fine, much better than Sparks and numbers similar if not better than McIlhenny before he signed with the Leafs. Relax with the back up.
