so i know you guys aren't going to believe me, but i have one legitimate source in the nhl circles.

i have tempted to say something in the past, but haven't. he maybe gives me one rumor a year - but it always goes down.

so marner has a serious offer sheet in front of him. he's taking the night to sleep on it, but it's basically an offer he can't refuse.

he's gonzo. ... i hope he likes manhattan.

he will be signing at $170M for 5 years with the new york knicks.

Some peeps really underate Kerfoot. He's just a tad under Kadri but younger and cheaper. Im not sure if true but I was reading today he is a pretty fast skater and that the Leafs are thinking on maybe having him center Kapanen and Johnson to experiment having one of the quickest lines in the NHL.

I’ve always wanted Kerfoot on the Leafs since I watched him 2 years ago. He’s very smart, I’d compare him to Bozak, but better. He’s not a younger, cheaper Naz.

Naz drove me crazy watching him. On the pp he was like a black hole. Give him the puck and the play would end. Even though he put up decent pts he lost the playmaking ability he had in junior. I'm not upset about losing him.

Offer marner 10.5 x 6 with bonus structure. Take it or leave it. If he signs an offersheet over 10.5 let him walk and take the picks. If he signs at 10.5 or lower for less years then match and boo him nightly for the next 3 years and trade him.

I like the fact that Dubas has dumped all the anchor contracts on the team and even if Marner gets signed for @10-11, then he can rebuild the defence next July with 16 million in CAP space if he so chooses. The top 3 forward lines are set for at least three years. Everybody on D except Reilly (and the kids on the farm) will either be a UFA or an RFA next July ... he can offer Barrie (or Muzzin) a competitive contract and still have a ton of cap room to add/build. There are going to be some great UFAs on D coming up next year (here's looking at you, Calgary) so he might just look elsewhere anyway. But even better is the fact that Dubas has almost bomb-proofed the Leafs against the expansion draft.... Seattle might be able to pick off Hyman... but there will be no unprotected D because everyone other than Reilly is a free agent (and the kids on ELCs can't be picked off in the expansion draft). Free agency happens after the expansion draft and if someone wants to stay & play for the Leafs they just wait it out and sign after.

I love the fact Leaf fans are plotting a retaliatory offer sheet on Barzal before the apparent Marner Offer Sheet has even happened. 😂

I started it as soon as the Lou stuff was mentioned... Because I wanted to piss in the cornflakes of the bumholes getting chubbies at the idea.

I’d think MM’s best wish is sign for only his RFA years. Anyone know how many that is?

Or she's just messing around having fun at a game with the other parents and doesn't have a lot of experience of being in the public eye yet, so she didn't consider she'd be caught on camera and have it turned into a gif.

I've actually seen people do that before lol. It's a specific dance move. Yes, it's a bit ridiculous, but that's half the fun when you're just fooling around having fun, you do ridiculous dance moves because you don't take yourself too seriously.

Unfortunately when your son is a Maple Leafs hockey player (and a damn good one), someone is gonna video that poop, and then uptight hockey fans will judge you for it.

i think your missing the underlying math. There is nothing on the horizon that is going to result in any kind of material increase of the CAP next year.

It is hard to construct a contending team that will finish strong in the regular season and still have the depth to go deep into the playoffs. The numbers don't lie. Close to 60% of your budget is spent if three players (Marner, Tavares and Matthews) contracts averaging $11.5m each and you retain Nylander at $7m. as well as Reilly and Anderson at $5m.

How do you go into the playoffs without the money to pay a #2 Man? This is not a team that would have the depth to contend in the playoffs and, likely, does not have the depth to be able to finish strong in the second half of the season.

Glad to see you've learned your lesson regarding assessing the state of the Leafs. Please, tell us more Nostradumbass. We're all looking forward to more of your summer talk. Haven't had much of it since you tucked your tail between your legs and ran away from the Leafs/Sens thread over a year and a half ago. There sure are a lot of deleted posts in that thread for some reason.
