i think your missing the underlying math. There is nothing on the horizon that is going to result in any kind of material increase of the CAP next year.

It is hard to construct a contending team that will finish strong in the regular season and still have the depth to go deep into the playoffs. The numbers don't lie. Close to 60% of your budget is spent if three players (Marner, Tavares and Matthews) contracts averaging $11.5m each and you retain Nylander at $7m. as well as Reilly and Anderson at $5m.

How do you go into the playoffs without the money to pay a #2 Man? This is not a team that would have the depth to contend in the playoffs and, likely, does not have the depth to be able to finish strong in the second half of the season.

I wonder how long until someone posts this is the Spazzo dippoop thread.

Wouldn't Marner need to be signed at around $12M for that to be the average of all 3?

And that's not gonna happen.

Glad to see you've learned your lesson regarding assessing the state of the Leafs. Please, tell us more Nostradumbass. We're all looking forward to more of your summer talk. Haven't had much of it since you tucked your tail between your legs and ran away from the Leafs/Sens thread over a year and a half ago. There sure are a lot of deleted posts in that thread for some reason.
- BlueBallz

Oh my God what a thread that was. We will never reach those heights again unfortunately. Every single thing he predicted went completely the opposite way. You couldn't even do that if you tried.

4 years 9.75 million or 6 years 10.5 million. That’s personally how I see it. I don’t think the team will do 5 because of Matthews. Marner might look to Meier’s deal and have a large salary on that final year of a 4 year deal so that’s he at least guaranteed a high qualifying offer on that 5th year that ultimately could walk him to UFA. I think the leafs would like to avoid that scenario, but it could be an inventive for Marner to sign.

It's (frank)ing Lou Lams insistence of using paper and pen that's holding it up.

Canada Post last had it in Sudbury.

Seriously. It is really hard to follow the logic. The top 4 starting next year are Reilly, Ceci, Muzzin and Barrie. How do the Leafs contend with that back end, especially if you get to the playoffs? They will be maxed out on the CAP.

Cecci, Muzzin and Barrie are all UFAs next summer. I don't understand the long term plan,

Mitch has probably been abused by his overbearing dad his entire life.

Dad wants a cottage on Lake Joe, so, sorry Mitch, we do this my way. Eff you and your wishes.

Don't worry about it.

The fact that you don't follow the logic and don't understand the long term plan should give all leaf fans solace.
