Marner will get 5 years X $10.5M and he'll be worth every penny. He is a brilliant player who can play when goals are needed and he can play when it's time to shut down the opposition. He kills penalties. He is a powerplay QB. His vision and approach to the game is some of the best EVER.

because his offense suffered from not getting pp opportunity. basically he thinks he was not getting the opportunity to be more, that probably led to issues between him and the coach and the other d-men aswell he probably had to read online how many leaf fans thought he sucked and didn't want to play for them anymore. plus leaf fans probably bother him throughout the city when he's trying to live his day to day life away from hockey.

Z isn’t good enough to be a PP guy....maybe on a bad team like Ottawa but on a good team no way.

He’s a number 5 D that doesn’t do anything particularly well.

Big rumour going around right now that Rogers has said goodbye to Don Cherry. I would like to say I will miss him but feel he has already outstayed his welcome.

I've always supported Don Cherry, he's entitled to his opinion and he was entertaining... and while some may not like his style of patriotism.. he was always unabashedly "Canada First". I will always appreciated that...even though at times his choice of words wasn't the best.

That was until this year. In particular his hypocrisy regarding the officiating in the playoffs, he was not straightforward or honest in his commentary - and MacLean was same - disingenuous across the boards. Only chose to comment on what supported his views.

I'm glad if he finally hangs them up. Don't see any value in him continuing.. he's not even entertaining anymore.

and I sincerely hope he takes MacLean with him. Maclean has always gone out of his way to defend, show highlights, question when anyone has criticized the officials. He didn't even the back bone to call out the horrible officiating this playoff season... glossed over it. Dishonest and disingenuous.
