Willie had a poop season...I get why someone would disagree with me
But Willie's passing is near elite and he has a lethal shot.
Finally having a RHD is going to shake things up....I hope the Athletic comes up with an actual in depth analysis of what Barrie could do to the Leafs PP....but from me looking up some youtube videos of the Avs PP Barrie seems to love the one timer from the center or right side wall. Something we have never seeon on this Leafs pp. They are going to have to find a way to utilize that and I don't think the usual Marner/Nylander setup on that RS is going to do it.
I expect this years PP to be different and I think Willie will benefit from that. - Santo_44
7 g+ .5 ppg + soft as slime pencil neck pretty boy=lethal?

You guys see Don Cherry call out Simmons last night about the contract? Rogers told him after the playoffs that he's back next season.
(frank)ing Simmons; guy just churns out the poop for clicks. |

I don't understand the Marner math.
Regardless of which way he signs, it appears that the Leafs will invest around $33m of CAP on Tavares, Matthews and Marner. Add in Nylander, Reilly and Andersen and the cost for 6 players is $50m (roughly 58% of CAP). Kerfoot, Johnsson, Kapanen, Hyman, Ceci, Muzzin and Barrie adds another $23.6m. Effectively more than 90% of CAP is now fully committed to 13 contracts.
Most teams carry 22 players.
So, Leafs need to fill in the rest of their line up with 9 players averaging around $900k on the CAP.
Stanley Cup finalists St. Louis and Boston used their depth to defeat teams that may have had better top end talent. The season is long and hard.

you can fill out your bottom 6 with cheap depth players..you dont have to pay them 2-3mil
now can a team win a cup being top heavy... we will see.

He is an unmitigated disaster.
He was on the Fan590 on some Sunday morning show or something. Believe it or not, he sounded like even MORE of a douchebag than you would expect.
Someone needs to Masvidal him and put us all out of our misery.

You forgot the- "He was always going to Torontoe and the Leafs still had to give him $11M".
- GreatGigInTheSky
Oh yeah that is my favorite.
One of the everyday asshats on here laughing it up because Toronto had to overpay Tavares and Babcock because nobody wants to come here.
The irony... this was an Ottawa fan, right after none of their FA's wanted to stay there.

it would be great if you, lums, hoho and a few others go into another thread to insult eachother instead of insulting people who want to discuss hockey. |

I wouldn't really call us top heavy: that cash is spread around our top 6 evenly, exactly as it should be.
It's when you get into multiple 5-6M players on the 3rd line is where you get into trouble and even more so, multiple 2.5-3M players on the 4th line.

I must agree with the bird on this one.
Spatso has no intention of talking hockey, he just wants to see the Leafs burn. |
