Maybe some time with Muzzin will turn him into a player.

People were genuinely surprised by Zaitsev's play alongside Muzz

- TheMussel

That Muzzin Barrie line looks really good to me.

It’s almost what we wanted for Muzzin and Rielly but couldn’t get either to play their wrong side. This way it should be the best of both worlds. I don’t think Berrie is much of a downgrade offensively over Rielly and Muzzin could stabilize him defensively.

Marc Bergevin and the Montreal Canadiens offered a contract to Brayden Point and he literally told them to (frank) off.

I feel like more folks need to be talking about this but aren't.

I can't wait to see the Ceci hate in here in 3 months time

He is so bad

- RickJames77

Meh.
He saved us from Z and from Z's contract.
Hes a hero.

I don't expect anything from him other than he'll be gone next year.

It's nice that he's a RHD.

But is he an upgrade over Gardiner? I'd say only slightly.... and might leave in a year.

But Kerfoot is a significant downgrade on Kadri.

Of course vs the Bruins in the playoffs it's a major upgrade on both fronts.

- Scabeh

after looking over the trade a bit better...

Couple things. Gardiner and Barrie are a wash, all things considered.

Kerfoot has some really good def metrics, i dont see the drop off as much as "significant" Factor in Age/decline for Kadri and Kerfoot is in his prime production years. and cap hit, he comes in at 1 mil cheaper.

Both Kadri/Kerfoot are 45ish point players at this point.

I don't think Ceci is nearly as bad as many Sens fans wanted him to be. He became the whipping boy for everyone's frustration. He played with the negative spotlight shining on him every shift. If he had a few good shifts fans were disappointed.

I expect he will take advantage of the fresh start with the Leafs.

Once Dermott gets healthy, Ceci moves down.

Or at least that's what should happen. Babcock might just keep him where he is.

I don't think that's being fair to Kadri.

He'll have a bigger role with the Avs and I expect his production to rise from last season where he played behind 2 top centres.

And I'm saying that hating his stupid face.

I guess we'll see.

Apparently Smith was hot for the Sens to take him. Not sure what lies behind that move.

I do like that 2nd top 4 better, despite Ceci being a mess.
- Scabeh

I still cannot understand why they didn't put $4 million in signing bonus.

Yeah, sure, maybe he was misused in Ottawa. Maybe he can actually play. Maybe there's a fancy graph that Dubas has that proves he can make meaningful contributions to the Leafs this year.

But if that graph is wrong, wouldn't it be nice to have the insurance of knowing you can flip him to another team, knowing the other team would only have to pay $500,000 in salary?

Dubas franked up big time on this one.

Maybe Ceci had to reject his qualifying offer first before Dubas could offer him anything else?

oh ya Kadri in the top 6 will be able to put up more points but he probably wasnt going to be a 30 goal guy again playing 3rd line in toronto.

I agree.

Only so much icetime can be given per game.... and you want as much of Matthews and Tavares as possible.
