I'm perfectly happy to wait to see him play a few games in a Sens uniform before I make any rash judgements. |

the summer of 2016 the following deals were signed. part is so bad
did any of them look good after 2 seasons? - senstroll
One long term UFA signing that seems to have been worth it is Suter.
Unlike Parise who's been destroyed by injuries and never put up the numbers he did with the Devils, Suter has been a stuf for the Wild ever since he joined them. Probably will remain effective during his whole contract too. |

$4.5 million salary cap hit.
That's why. - Atomic Wedgie
If they didnt want him they would have figured something else out, but for some reason they will give him a shot.

Spezza will play a bigger role than expected. Dubas should package up Marincrap and Kerplunk for a Dman. - DrunkenCanuck You better hope not

Jason Spezza, now a perfect 4th line defensive centre to use as a faceoff GOD.
How things change eh? |

He was still very effective on the PP last year and I expect that to continue.

Pretty much all you want out of a 4th line role player. And he wont get killed a 5v5, but will contribute more than the GOAT does.

I’d think he can play 3c for a year so that we can move Kerplunk for a D |

A 3c shouldn’t make or break the team. Bad D will though. |

Yes.
But if they had given him money up front, they would be insuring against the possibility of suckage. |

Maybe not in the regular season, but when you get into a 7 game series the top 2 lines often mitigate each other and it can turn into a battle of the bottom 6.
If past repeats itself do you really want Spezza anchoring your 3rd line against Coyle? I wouldn't |

Fair nuff. I think Spazda has more in the tank then you think though. He will be Tavares motivated to come home. |

Spezza's #'s given his usage are pretty impressive. Too many people will look at it anbd just see some old guy who's not what he use to be. Of course he's not, but as a 4th liner he's a big upgrade. |

Never argued about him as a 4th liner, just that I don't think he's serviceable in a 3rd line center job. |
