You're moving at least one defender with at least 4M in salary. After new contracts - McCabe 2.7, Erod 2.4, Larry 1.7, Ullmark 1.0 (projections by Evolving Wild) You're about 1M over the cap. Even if you cut a couple 100k off of each, you're still over, or right on the edge. That's 13F, 9D and 2G, 1 player over. This team will carry 2 extra dmen as they have done the past two years. Includes 0 space for any guys from Rochester to make the roster, like Tage, Alex, Victor or Asplund.

You save over 7M ditching Sobotka and Scandella. Swapping out Risto with a 2C, that C can cost up to 7M and you'll still have a solid 5-6M in cap space.

One of the first things I think about when I see all these lineup projections is who is going to play tough D minutes against top lines? Is ERod really that guy? I certainly don't think so. Love it or hate it, Larsson still makes sense as 4C.

Stats show Rodrigues is better at offense and better at defense. Larsson is better at absolutely nothing of real value. his claim to greatness is he wins 0.6% more faceoffs than he loses.

There's a remote chance Larsson negotiates a new contract for less than he made before, especially since he didn't sign his QO which was I believe a bit more than 1.6M. So he's getting probably at least 1.7. Or being traded. Signing Erod to less than Girgensons and Larsson is a slap in the face. Just don't see it happening. He's a solid bottom 6F and probably deserves 2+.

Regardless of whether you bust or not, you can't walk into the season with 100k space. That affords you zero callups. At least one player needs to move.

Ullmark's deal is extremely hard to figure. Koskinen's 4.5m deal really confuses the whole thing.
