I think we see 55 if he's on the roster.
He is one if the best pp defenseman in the league.
Lousley should have used 53 more on the pp and ot - Boss34
Not true Risto ranked 17th in pp points last year, that's not close to best in the league.

Credit where due. He's a good offensive defender. 125 pts in 3 seasons puts him with pretty elite company.
Perhaps, just perhaps, he doesn't suck and isn't an All star either... |

I don't think he sucks by any stretch, I just find it funny that hes either terrible or the best dman we have ever seen, sure he produces points say on the pp, but he cant defend very well and is not good at driving offense 5 on 5.
Some act as if he has no deficiencies whatsoever. |

Risto is definitely good on the PP. the dude is very good at the point or the top of the funnel. I like him at the top and Eichel and dahlin on the half walls

Your logic is flawed. We sign a 20 goal scorer, everyone says "sweet, a 20 goal scorer" not, "well based on the team he played with, it's impossible to predict his new stats".
A proven 20 goal scorer will score 20 goals on any team. A bad defensemen isn't bad because the whole organization conspired against him to stick him in bad situations or make him play sidney crosby every weekend. For example, risto took 47% of his draws in the offensive zone, but people here will tell you he has to play defense, in his own end, against the top line of every team, every single shift. But it is just an excuse made up to defend him, it isn't true.
Come on guys, we went through this with Myers, who was way better than Risto when it comes to statistics, and he was what? A 4th or 5th defensemen on another team? He didn't get better when put in a better team with a better situation, he just got relied on less and trusted less. Risto will go become some other team's 4th or 5th defenseman, and make 5 million a year. It isn't value. Hence, he is still here. :p - matty12345

Dobber for line combo's. Takes a little work, but if you know who the full time RW's are, it's very clear.
He's never been productive other than as Crosby's LW. Sucks, but it's true. - Lunaion
I thought Kunitz played on the left side with Crosby for at least 1 of the Cups
Maybe I’m just remembering wrong?? |

He has major deficiencies, but probably less than my take on him.
I am just sick and tired of watching the whole team run around in their own zone for 45 seconds trying to get the puck out. For him, as soon as he gets it, he is quick to fire it up along the boards where the opponents LW and LD are there to retrieve it and start the cycle again...then he fires ut off the glass into the OZ, the line shifts occur and boom, they are hemmed in again.
Hopefully this is where Johansson, Vesey, Montour and Miller can make a difference on the roster with better zone exits and transitions this season. Maybe Freddie can get lunk-head to lift his head to see where he should pass it. |

Remi Elie has an arbitrating hearing set for August 1.
Elie registered an assist in 16 games in 2018-19. He also had eight goals and 14 points in 25 AHL contests.

Pavel Buchnevich has an arbitration hearing set for July 29th.
Buchnevich scored 21 goals and 38 points in 64 contests last season. He's looking for a new contract after completing his entry-level deal.

Risto simply hasn't improved, so I understand where some are coming from. He's been a big let down for many (me included).
But agreed, we're losing access to middle ground. |

We need a center before another winger.
People hating on bassard last night .... I didn’t get why? Bass isn’t a godly center. I get that. But would you rather have
Eichel
Bass
Mitts
Sobotka / Erod.
Or
Eichel
Mitts
Erod
Sobotka
Bass at 1 year is fine |

From Las Word on Hockey,
It is believed Gusev is asking for around $4 million per season. At this point, that is much too rich for Vegas. However, the return is underwhelming according to a report by Jesse Granger of The Athletic (subscription required), who states that according to league sources preliminary talks are a second-round pick and a later round pick or second-tier prospect.
Offer Gusev $3.25 x 2, and VGK A Nylander and 2021 - 3rd |
