Leafs-Sabres games are going to be track meets.

Can't wait for the 24-22 games.

- Atomic Wedgie

EASY NOW..... The Sabres still need a #2 center and Winger. Now I am hoping that they can trade Risto for the #2 center...

I really wanted Kadri on the Sabres, that would of made for some seriously entertaining games....

Go read the Hawks board dude. I’m just reporting what they are saying.
- ImThatGuy

Everything I'm reading (very little) seems to indicate that there is more good than bad about the guy, which wasn't the case for Nylander. If he turns out to be good, and is paid accordingly, we'll most likely be satisfied.

Trying to be as objective as possible here. I don't understand the reasoning behind giving away a 20 y/o rookie dman (with years to grow) for an inconsistent, supremely skilled perimeter winger. Nylander's potential is higher, and his floor is much, much lower. I've always pulled for the kid and I hope he works out for Chicago. But right now, this looks like an absolute steal for Buffalo.

I’m with you, on the surface I don’t understand the reasoning behind the deal, but ultimately what I can surmise is that Stan is continuing his trend of trying to take chances on former first rounders that haven’t panned out, hoping a change of scenery will reinvigorate them (see Strome, Perlini, Quenneville, Koekkoek). It’ll be interesting to see how everything plays out, but again, certainly a head-scratcher on Chicago’s end. But I’m not a paid scout.

If you move Risto, Scandella and Hunwick

That’s 11mil you can use.

Maybe they are after a big fish with Risto?

I'm not your dude, bro.

A team's fans are the worst people to ask about their own players. They have their favorites and their whipping boys regardless of actual talent. People here think Pominville is actually good FFS.

Edit: If you asked this board about Josh Allen imagine all the different answers you'd get.

OK, someone enlighten me here.

This sounds too good to be true. How in the world? Does Stan really think that highly of Nylander?

Jokiharju is a top 4 guy who will only get better...I can see a pairing of Dahlin-Jokiharju having much success together in the future

And just to really hurt Leafs fans:

He shoots right.

But hey, we have Ceci at $4.5 million this year. That's good, right?

Sounds like a slick move by Botts. Kinda (and I mean this in the best way)......Darcy-esque?

It's a brave new world.

Botterill is literally assembling an all puck-mover d corps. It's outlet passes and puck moving. There's no traditional defense. We'll see how it plays out

- jcragcrumple

It didn't go too well when FL tried it. All these brilliant puck movers....that struggle on D to even at first get the puck that they move so well. Often winding up hemmed in their own zone because no one will physically break up an opponent's cycle. Kinda neutered their whole genius plan...

for some reason, i think your team will be just fine.....I just want our games together to be meaningful again. it's always better when both teams are competitive.

Well the good news is it’s one year of Ceci vs several more of Zaitsev.....I’m just stunned on how little the cost was on Jokiharju.....I wish we had him

Risto has to go now right?
- hehateme

you now have
montour
risto
miller
bogo
and the kid on the right

dahlin
mccabe
scandella on the left

if you move scandella and bogo, play one of the 4 RD on the left

that is your best d group

I think it's more the end of bogo, but that's just me

I'm skeptical as well. It's a vision though, and a coherent plan, which is good to see from management.

It's killing me to think about what we could have given up.

Bracco plus a 2nd rounder?

Nylander by himself got that done....let that settle in
