I think the trade is an absolute steal. Never trade young, high pick defensemen for a yet to show any potential after 3 years forward. Especially ones that are in the NHL for 38 games at 19. Sure you might get a Tyler Myers, but even he is fine at a given role.

I didn't hear he turned down any deals for Risto, maybe Homie did. I know Murray said no to the Oilers for Hall. I think the McCabe's decision will factor more into Risto.

This recent trade is only a precursor of the bigger trade that is in the works.
With this particular move, GMJB now feels that he can make the big move that he has been making all of these other moves to make.

Anything's possible, but it seems FL could've just given Chicago a better prospect than Nylander for him. I'm seeing that Q loved him, first pair guy; but I also see "loved playing with him with (the safety net that is) Duncan Keith". FL has no Keith type to pair him with, and they already have plenty of puck movers. Tallon has wanted to add a few more defensive minded D since taking back over as GM. Is Joker all offense? I know nothing about the joker to have an opinion of him, though. FL may very well be interested, for all I know. To be honest, I think FL would be more interested in Borgen.
