Even if he put it all together, it's still less valuable than a top pair D.

Potential is just a projection. It's changed for both players over time.

He’s going to be a top 4 NHLer.

If he reaches his potential he’s a top 2 defenseman.


Nylander has to be a top 6 NHL winger or he’s nothing more than Jody Gage.


That said imo Nylander has the higher ceiling. This a boom or bust deal for Chicago but they did turn around Stromes career if he continues the way he seems to be trending.

All and all I think this is a great move for Buffalo regardless of what Nylander does.
