He had another concussion this year. The best thing they can do is stuff him on the 4th line so he doesn't drag down the top-9. I feel for the guy, but the days of him being a quality NHL player are over - jcragcrumple
Okposo had the same amount of points as your boy erod.
Didnt you just order a jersey?

29 points in 78 games coming off a brain injury off season.
11 more points is definitely possible. Especially if they keep him away for erod. Play him with talent.
Okposo is a sabre next season, better start rooting for him - Boss34
where does he fit?
serious question
I have skinner, johansson and olofsson as the top 3 LW
sheary drops to 4th line by default
reinhart and vesey then are locks in the top 9
if your are giving the kids a shot, that leaves 1 spot in the top 9 for nylander, tage and okposo
there is no reason to keep nylander or tage with big club if buried on the 4th line so I have 1 of them as the last rw in the top 9
girgens and okposo battling it out for the 4th line rw spot |

6 mill a yr for a 4th liner who will get worse as his contract goes. 8 minutes a night at 6 mill a year. Took the Rangers 2 years with a rebuild even with Shattenkirk. |

Does it matter ? , they will make the playoffs the thing the Sabres can't do. |

Kevin Labanc’s one-year extension is for $1 million even. A bit shocking honestly
From Kevin Kurz
Wow.
Does that make him a UFA next year? - Stripes77

Wasn't the '18-'19 season actually the second after his big concussion then Med reaction?
I thought it happened in the '16-'17 season, and he couldn't work out during the summer of '17, so he '17-'18 season was horrible in that he was not in good physical condition to play well.
We should expect about the same this upcoming season as he had last season. |

Moulson had 14 goals and 18 assists the year before he was waived. 11 of his goals came on the PP. Okposo basically had the same season, with 7 goals on the PP. He's borderline unplayable 5-on-5.
Erod is a completely different player who offers versatility as to forward position and he plays PK while making literally 1/10th of Okposo's salary.
If you saddle Mittelstadt with Okposo, you are nearly guaranteeing Mitts will fail. There's nowhere for him in the top-9. Play him for 8 minutes a night and hope he doesn't take his usual 15 stick infraction penalties |

the fact a player making 750K is producing as much as a 6 mil okposo is really not a way to make your case
just sayin |

imo, one-dimensional and overrated...three of the past four years he was double-digit negative in plus/minus with the other one being minus-7...not quite risto bad but still very bad considering he played on some very good teams |

they' ain't buying out Okposo and it doesn't look as if they'll be able to trade him...don't see why any energy is wasted on him right now cause he ain't goin anywhere...not even to the ahl |

It is unfortunate, but the reality is at $6m with 4 years left, that contract is virtually unmovable, especially with a M-NTC attached to it. A Buyout doesn't work either for probably 3 more years. And no one is taking a 31st for it either.
That ship of getting rid of him has sailed. So like it or not, stick him on the 4th line where his contribution matches position/line expectations.
It sucks, but it is what it is.
Move on. |

You brought up a couple good points.
John jack
Sam
Skins
Goaloffson
Johansson
I'd say it's pretty safe to say those are 5 of the 6 top lines.
Nylander is not good and will most likely be traded
Tage hasnt earned a spot on the Sabres let alone the top 6 spot
Then vesey-mitts- ?
Maybe the 9th forward?
Gigss erod pommer for the 4th?

Not gonna move on, they could have added to the 31 st to move him but Botterill made no effort to do so, none at all I was told. no matter buy out or not, he won't do that, Botterill doesn't like dead money. |

I agree mike,
Okposo pretty much has a spot in the 2019/20 line up.
With better talent and coaching , maybe he regains some scoring touch.
His contract is terrible. But it is what it is.

You can dissect the goals ect, but they had the same amount of points last year.
The contracts are not even.
I bet okposo outscores erod next year.
Erod might not even be a sabre or nhl player next year.
2 goals in the first 40 plus games is an embarrassment for a center with speed

Okposo and a 1st round pick to Seattle if we can hang on until 2021. Plus that gives up our protected player. |
