Example for a UFA.
- Nighthawk

Are you wanting an example for a UFA?

That's the example, specific to Rafferty who was signing a 1 year ELC as to why his cap hit was so high

It was a result of the signing bonus (Max 10% of ELC contract) that was paid for essentially 4 days work

ahhhh. i forgot that we should ignore a player's long-term injury history since it might upset some.

maybe there is reason you guys got him....4 years wasn't offered by anyone else.

- Tumbleweed

As far as I dig up he's had two (maybe 3, one from 2014) and has missed a combined 33 games the last 4 years - your golden child AM missed more than that the 2 years alone.

btw what the fawk are you doing here?

I was until about 5 minutes ago.

i am now more afraid of dubas giving him bonus money.

Bubass has spent too much time negotiating against himself. Soon to have the softest overpaid team in the league. It must be the Shanaplan. MO MONEY KYLE MO MONEY WE NEED MO MONEY Okay Brendan right after my pedicure.

concussion injuries. several plus playoff time missed...which i know, is irrelevant to the nucks.

if matthews injures his shoulder again this year, that contract will start to bad fast.

So where will Ferland likely slot in?

I'd like some muscle on that top line with Brock and EP, but also feel his game might be better suited to Bo's style of play.

I'd go with:

Miller-Pettersson-Boesser
Pearson-Bo-Ferland
Sven-Sutter-JV
Leivo-Beagle-Motte
Schaller-Goldobin-Eriksson

Rousell LTIR
Gaudette to Utica

Interested to see who JB ships out now.

yes. with all the bonus money he handed out to nylander and matthews, he should have been able to negotiate lower AAV's.

player gets money up front, team gets lower AAV.

we'll be constant underdogs against tampa.

He's terrified of the possibility of seeing Marner in an Islanders jersey next season.
- Marwood

At least some Leafs fans will admit their team is soft as poop. Others like him will troll teams for signing guys like Ferland to try and feel better about themselves.

It was sad that Kadri was their toughest player and it’s even more sad now that he’s gone

Teams like the Bruins and Caps know they can do whatever they want physically in a series against them

Leafs fans’ insecurity is so obvious

Ferland, Virtanen and Rousell would be a savage line - none play center but it would be hilarious.

That would be good for their 1st shift, before one takes a penalty.

I like the idea of spreading that 'grit' around tho

It doesn't help that he is a geriatric (frank) of a coach too. Leafs are easily the softest team in the league now that the canucks got some bite

Doesn't make a difference, That's the explanation to why his cap hit was so high when his salary was relatively low

Tree signed a 2 year ELC and had a cap hit that was high for the first season - likely the same calculation was used, signing bonus paid vs # of days on roster divided by full season days

They don't get the full years salary up front when only playing a partial season, only the signing bonus which is only 10% of the total ELC contract salary for the year. That's the point that was being made

KB pissed he inherited Babcock.
Imagine in 2012 if somehow it was Canucks/Leafs 1st round PO’s. Be fun to see who gets out coached if either. 😂😂
