Doesn't make a difference, That's the explanation to why his cap hit was so high when his salary was relatively low

Tree signed a 2 year ELC and had a cap hit that was high for the first season - likely the same calculation was used, signing bonus paid vs # of days on roster divided by full season days

They don't get the full years salary up front when only playing a partial season, only the signing bonus which is only 10% of the total ELC contract salary for the year. That's the point that was being made

Only saves you about $1 mill.

Say it costs you Lind or Lockwood to move that contract, just do it.......

He was pretty dam hatable after that series. Nice guy to have on our side though

He sorted out that mess Bieksa. No more pretending his billboard material interviews were not helping the other team over the years especially when the "fringe player" this time is kicking his ass every game. Bieksa couldnt show his face in this market after that.

I was joking about cap issues. They have over 5 mil in space and a 24 man roster . When BB signs it will be 25 . They will need to send 2 men down.

I had heard it would be between 6-6.5 x 4 for Brock.

Miller, Myers, Ferland, Hughes, Benn >>>> Hutton, Granlund, Eriksson, Pouliot, Spooner

- Nucker101

Cupboard are still relatively stocked with prospects further brightening the future outlook.

Podz, Hogz, OJ, DiPietro, Lind, Keppen, Lockwood, plus a few others working to make the next step. The first 4 are locks to make the NHL in my opinion.

yes. bridging your top players early in a rebuild seems like sound cap strategy to me.

Bang on multiple times saying you fully expect Myers and Ferland to be Canucks more that once

yes, thanks for asking.

leafs pay a first to dump their cap problem.

nucks pay a first to take on someone else's cap problem.

both our teams got problems.

So we get a top first with moving our first and you get SWA and you think you win

\BTW I laughed so effin hard when I seen Leonard sign with the Clippers. Now if Marner signs an OS my summer is complete

For less than I expected though which is why I’ve changed my tune.

I still have concerns about Myers defense but his durability and offense should help. Benning is steadier than Hutton. Ferland is solid value. Miller I think we gave up too much but I like the player a lot.

Add in Hughes and this team will actually be enjoyable to watch again.

Benning has had a tremendous off season. Whether you are like myself and questioned myers length, or the price we paid for miller, no one here can question that this team is bigger/stronger/faster and more talented than last years team, and it isnt even close

Myers/benn/miller/ferland/leivo/pearson/hughes

Schenn/hutton/pouliot/granlund/gudbranson

This is a very improved team and playoffs should absolutely not be out of the question

what hurts the most is that they'll be hanging the championship banner in LA with kawhi.

will be good to see marner sign that OS. it will open up the cap space for us to OS brock at 8.5m.
