Benning has had a tremendous off season. Whether you are like myself and questioned myers length, or the price we paid for miller, no one here can question that this team is bigger/stronger/faster and more talented than last years team, and it isnt even close

Myers/benn/miller/ferland/leivo/pearson/hughes

Schenn/hutton/pouliot/granlund/gudbranson

This is a very improved team and playoffs should absolutely not be out of the question

what hurts the most is that they'll be hanging the championship banner in LA with kawhi.

will be good to see marner sign that OS. it will open up the cap space for us to OS brock at 8.5m.

- Tumbleweed

Did they win the championship ? I didn't watch so I don't know.

If history told us anything, it was that we could expect some major mistakes being made. As a skeptic, I am pleasantly surprised at this off season. Again, I still question the cost of miller and length of myers, but u won't fine me complaining overall. Benning has done well imo

Brock is immune to an OS this year

Though if we could offload LE I would happily trade Brock for Mitch.

Still not happy about trading a 1st and I still feel they will put Myers in a position to fail but they are definitely making significant changes.

yes, thanks for asking.

leafs pay a first to dump their cap problem.

nucks pay a first to take on someone else's cap problem.

both our teams got problems.

- Tumbleweed

Comparing Miller to PM is funny. Marleau at retirement age, a 6m hit, and a buy out because he's useless and overpaid.

TB may have had cap problems, but Miller wasnt what anyone would consider as a cap problem contract. They traded someone with a lot of value still on a good contract for 4 seasons. Tampa did very well on that trade but I highly doubt they throw in a 1st to dump Miller to another team.

This is how I fell as well. It's less about the player than it is about their contracts or how much we paid for them. I like myers and Miller as well. All in all, benning made good on promises for change.

Don't worry we still have his desperate overpayments from past years.

We trade our first for a good player they trade theirs for an empty locker and he thinks they did okay.

I think Canada needs to put more money into its educational system.

It's not trolling when you can't even get the basic facts right. However, we are all very proud of you for somewhat learning how to type. I've personally donated $20 in your name to the Special Olympics. Remember, you are special to us.

I would've joined the Miserable Marwoods™ if Myers got 7x7, Ferland got 5.5x5 and Benn got 3x3 but Jim has surprised me with his reasonable UFA deals. I still say the Miller deal was an overpay, but I like the player a lot and he's also on a really solid contract as well.

Plus Jim let go of 2 of my most hated Canucks, Granlund and Pouliot. If he completes the trifecta with LE(even in Utica), I'll be ecstatic.

Ideally I would've loved to land Gusev and Miller from the Knights, but this is a decent consolation prize.
