Don't worry, you'll have more years where you get to be disappointed. There's always another $6M contract around the corner! - golfingsince
The funny thing is in 2010 I remember arguing daily with most of you guys about extending the Sedins.
I said they would be good for 2 years and the back end of the contract they would be slow.
I said they would slow the process of a rebuild that should have been started at the end of 2012/
I said they would eat up a good chunk of the cap hit .(15 mil of 53 mil)
I said they would walk for free that you couldn't trade two players the same time that made 15 mil.
Here is the big prediction I also made . I said the Canucks would build around them . That very contract I warned you about is the one that bothers you most
Anyways grab a calculator they have 9.6 mil in cap space and one contract to sign Brock.
I am going to avoid this daily madness . Enjoy summer see you in a couple of weeks. |

Is it actually that easy?
Just read an Ian Mcintyre article on sportsnet and this wasn't mentioned....
There seems, however, almost no way out from Eriksson’s contract.
The huge bonuses make it almost buyout-proof — CapFriendly.com shows a cap savings of only $444,000 for the next two seasons if Eriksson were bought out — and sending him to the minors would make some fans happy but save the Canucks only $1.075-million next year.
Could Benning actually trade Eriksson? Maybe.
The only positive thing about his deal is that Eriksson is owed just $9 million over its final three years. If the Canucks retain salary, Eriksson could cost another team as little as $1.5-million a season. That’s doable.
But Benning would still have to find a team that can absorb Eriksson’s cap hit and believe that the player will be an effective penalty-killer and checker when he is 35 and 36 years old.
If he's simply buried, we're still on the hook for the salary, no? - dbot
Yes, minus the 1mil+. Worth it to talk of him in the past tense. |

If you want to get rid of LE just have Woo knock the poop out of him in camp and put him on LTIR for 3 years, problem solved. |

Once again, it's the fault of two of the franchises best players.
You know what's (frank)ing amazing? It's always the Sedins or Luongo's fault, maybe sometimes Kesler. We wouldn't have been playing for a Stanley Cup if it wasn't for those players.
Benning was hired in 2014. What's the worst contract he gave out that year? Miller? Vrbata? After that, he has continually chased his tail.

Yeah, brutal in the playoffs.
FFS we traded a 2nd for Linden Vey. Anyways, I didn't really give a (frank) or not if we fired him. I knew a new coach wasn't going to fix things at that point.
I just wanted to have a lame duck coach so we could talk to the Gallant's and Quenneville's of this world as they became available. |

I think Green is a pretty lame duck, he'll be fired 3 months before Benning. |

It was Linden and Benning’s fault that they had some strange sense of loyalty to be competitive for the twins.
They could’ve easily rebuilt with the twins on the roster. Sell whatever they could, retain the twins and rebuild. It was managements fault, not the twins. |

Yeah, if they're on pace to miss the playoffs. If not there's a good chance they're both fired the same day or re-signed. |

lol. I remember a very old Nova Scotia Liquor Commission awareness campaign about the dangers of drinking Lysol aerosol. Got so bad Shoppers had to keep it behind counter. |

I don't mind trying to retool right at the start short term through free agency. It's the trading of draft picks/prospects throughout the tenure that bothers me.
I know it's a stretch but right now we're looking for someone to play top line LW. Is McCann really any worse than Goldobin? He certainly can shoot the puck, distribute decently and understands a 200ft game.
Win now!!!!! |

I once made a delivery to the general store in Calstock, they had a display in front of the cash register. |

They did that in the interior here back in the 70-80's. It came with it's own cup, just spray it into the cap |

JB confuses because he's doing two opposite things at once. Like selling futures to compete while also rebuilding or the failed retool on the fly.
Its whack a mole management. A perpetual flurry of hits and misses.
