LA....the way I see it, you give Nylander the first shot at Top 6. the biggest reason is I think of Him Shaw and Sikura...he is the LEAST I would like on my 3rd line. Shaw, to me is a 3rd line Gem. Skilled enough to pop 15 or so goals and a little grinder and irritant.

Sikura my 2nd choice as 3rd line. Again, better defensively, and I am thinking a more rounded game than Nylander. Nylander is all skill and shot. I want him top 6 if he can hack it. I think it makes the rest of tem slot in better.

That is my take anyway....

Yes, I get that but I don't even see much similarity at this point but that's okay - we can agree to disagree. I was mostly commenting in the first place because I think both the guys in the MTL-TBL have been good.

I’ve read from Kelley twice and Stan once that having all of these prospects play in Chicago was never in the cards. Is the issue the timing, the prospect or the return. From most on here it sounds like it’s either the prospect or the return.

For those of you upset with the prospect, who would you rather they traded (of the prospects)?

+/- has haters for an extremely valid reason - it doesn't reflect on a individual player level. Like I'd have still called Ovechkin great when he had over PPG the same season he was a -35.

Quenville to me seems more like a prototypical 3r liner (Shaw like), than a top 6.

Not a Fan of the trade on the surface, trading a semi proven d man for a forward is never a good idea. Does anyone remember one of the Hawks best trades of all time, Chelios and 2nd rounder for fan favorite Denis Savard. Turned out best for the Hawks. Sometimes players show better when they play at higher levels, why? Better structure and better overall skill. The lower levels of hockey tend to be all over the place. I wouldn't have made the trade, but from the comments here no one would. Fingers crossed on this one and hopefully Ian Mitchell is the real thing.

Yeah I don't mean any of them necessarily make the Hawks I like the competition shaping up and skill level.

I would switch these two. Just because I would LOVE a heavy, skilled, grinding third line. Actually. looks pretty solid through 4 lines. Starting to like it!!!

Would anyone on this board have wanted Kapanen before this year? He only got his chance this year due to the Nylander hold out.

At this point...I doubt Sikura has much of a fan club.

He's 24 and looking like a fine AHL scorer...at best.

His best NHL potential may just be as a deal sweetener.

Obviously you did not notice his making plays, reliable checker, actually battles for pucks. Msy not be a big scirer but he will get his share. Smart player with obvious skill. Should do well on an offensive line and a mixed type of checking somewhat capable third line. That third line likely will see many looks thus season. Sikura will just have to prove your expectations were too low. Some people need to see instsnt big time results or everyone else is questionable
