So I can't be a Hawks fan who's PO'd and expresses his opinion...

...on a site visited by Hawks fans who express their opinions?

Hmmm..

- ArlingtonRob

Apparently Rob anyone here who questions Stan and his abilities as a NHL GM is a heretic. Lol

Perlini is King-Kong in comparison and how is that working out for him?

Wasn't talking about Perlini.

Buffalo has been in the playoffs how many times since 2010?
- rpeters01

How is that the fault of Buffalo fans commenting on online message boards?

Nylander should be motivated to not become the Black Sheep of the family as a Euro-League bust.

Ryan O’Reilly didn’t enjoy playing hockey in Buffalo and then went on to win the Conn Smythe...just saying.

The hiring of Colliton is going to set the franchise back 5 years. Unsuccessful in Sweden Tier 2, but qualified to take over the Blackhawks?

It’s like having the intern that got his diploma at a med school in the Bahamas do your heart surgery, rather than the Harvard educated Chief of Surgery at Johns Hopkins.

Other than nothing, that has what to do with this trade?

Woo, that hurt.

If that's the best you got, then you offer nothing to the cause. Perhaps you should take up collecting toe nail clippings. That seems to be the max level for your mental acuity.

Lazerus loves Jokiharju, and has been very critical of Stan & JC’s handling of him.

I doubt Stan made this decision by himself and had input from JC, the Rockford coaches, and every one else in player development and scouting areas.

Honestly doesn't matter, Bowman has the final say and i know someone posted it earlier this year, when was the last time we had a top 4 dman come through our system with Bowman in charge?

All i can say is if Joki becomes a top 4 RD and the guys in the system don't then going forward either fire Bowman or he's not allowed to decide on drafting dmen or trading for them unless they have NHL success

Hope you are right about the "change of scenery" thing. I kinda doubt it. If the kid doesn't have it inside his chest I am not sure he ever will, but who knows miracles do happen, I guess.

ROR has always been a fantastic hockey player. Him going to STL did nothing but illuminate that reality to the world. But StL is NOT WHY he became or was good.

Why is everyone and their grandma eager to trade Murthy? He was the best defenseman last year after coming from injury on this squad. What is his fault?
Instead we would play Oli Maata who is younger version of Seabrook and Pens were super hyped to finally get rid of him? And we would consider our defense improved from last year somehow?
I think this board gives SB too much credit mostly due to Strome playing well and forgets that for every successful trade there was Runblad, Danault, etc GM fiascos.

I know. But size is meaningless when it comes to determining how much fight is in the dog. Perlini is huge in comparison to a guy like Sikura but one wins board battles and the other doesn't.

Because Murphy was traded for Hjalmarsson. No other reason.

I am willing to give Perlini another look. He was basically a throw in with Strome. I think in the end it will end up being Strome for Schmatlz and while we love what Strome did, before he got injured Schmatlz was playing really well. So that deal may end up being a wash, although the Stanbros may not like that take.
- kwolf68

I would rather give someone that has some heart a chance. I am hoping a guy like Entwistle makes Perlini irrelevant.

Alex has been so average and lazy since he was drafted. He....right now, he’s a bust. He’s looked overmatched in every league he’s been in since he was drafted and he couldn’t crack a really not great Sabres lineup. He was scheduled to be at development camp this summer!! Sure our top picks and best prospects are there but he should be way past that at this point. I’m sure he’ll get a bit of the Blackhawk-bump but oh man if he doesn’t win a job outta camp, or maybe he’s scratched a couple times or whatever..you mine as well send him to the SHL. He’s on the verge of being irrelevant and I’m so happy we were able to get something for him while he still has a bit of cachet. He’s a Hawk now, and he’s gonna need a lot of minutes with good linemates, PP time and coddling. Even then, Joker’s future is a lot brighter, making the whole trade even more perplexing.

I was not a fan of the Strome trade. However, the comparisons to that trade with Nylander is far-fetched. Not that you are making it. But Strome at least produced at the A level. Nylander has done nothing at that level. Maybe it works but let's just say I have my doubts.

If you want someone with heart it sure sounds like the guy we just got has none. I was ambivalent on that deal at first, but I can't stomach Bowman going for a kid with serious question about his passion and heart? NEVER should you trade for guys like that. I guess if he is really THAT he can finish off his career in Rockford before being DFA'd.

I've heard and seen some great things about Entwistle. We'll see on him.

Murphy is overrated, forgets the situation, once in a great while strides up the ice instead of back wards, gets lost behind the net and along the boards but other than that he's good

I agree and would give a couple more years before assessing this trade. Smaltz really was doing well in AZ prior to the injury. I wish him good luck in AZ, as he seems to bring both speed, hockey sense and skills to the table.

Yea, people who think Bowman fleeced Arizona need to check themselves. Schmaltz got hurt. I honestly still do like the trade, but it's not such a win Stanbros say it is.

Thaat pro scouting staff is starting to become a concern. These are the same guys that recommended Weise and Condiments. Plus, Kimmo.
- Elbows15

And Regin, ffs.

But, they did okay on Strome, no?
