I would take offense to this. But it’s gary Indiana which is probably top 5 worse city in the USA. - IndianaSabresFan
Beautiful country over there. It's the best intro to Chicago one could aspire for, rolling down the 90 from Buffalo. |

Little news about Risto and i'm kinda shocked, talk of Risto for Laine. How this would work is beyond me, I thought he was asking for 9-10 a year, I was told Botterill wants to see what Reinhart's deal brings before any other big paydays. Very strange. |

Botts yes
Us sh!theads on a message board (which is the context of the post in the 1st place)? No
Worry about the team making the playoffs 1st.
An expansion draft in 2021? Are you kidding me?
I have more important things to worry about in life, you should too. - dadeadhead
This is the best post I have seen in these threads in 5 years. I remember when people came here to discuss hockey games and how the games are played. When no games were on and it was boring, people would talk about booze and women and movies and olives and mayonnaise based salads.
Now we've turned into a bunch of math nerds pouring over charts and graphs and worrying about cap repercussions for category 5 restricted free agents in connection with an expansion draft that's two years away.
I'm here to escape budgeting and planning headaches, not argue over them.
I'm an old man, and probably the king of the poopheads. I'll cop to all of that, and proudly.

I'm wondering if it's a shorter term contract for Laine or Winnipeg knows they can't make it work with him and Connor, so they are just going to see what they can get.
If there isn't the ability to talk to Laine's agent, then there is no way Botterill could give up much more than Risto. |

I come here for the escape from the mountains of work that sits in front of me that I get the urge to burn down and then go back.
Not a fan of olives or mayo, but I am not here to judge those that prefer them. |

Even when you take out all the guys who may not be here come the ED Buffalo will still end up losing a great player that was suppose to be part of our future. I think the real issue is with Defense. Even if we protect Dahlin, Joker, and Pilut, that leaves Montour and Borgen exposed. I would prefer not to lose either of them. - Sabrehagan
Joker doesn’t need to be Protected |

They called once about Laine already, I just can't see how that works. You can't have a team filled with 9-10 mill a year players and still compete year after year or may be i'm wrong. Reinharts contract is due after next season, can't see him signing for less then 7. |

Alex Iafallo has signed a two-year, $4.85 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Kings.
Iafallo had an arbitration hearing set for July 20th that's no longer necessary. He scored 15 goals and 33 points in 82 games in 2018-19. This is a solid bridge contract that makes a lot of sense for both sides. By the end of it, we should have a better idea of how Iafallo's career will likely shape out and what qualifies as fair value for him long-term.
He would have been a nice add. |

I can't see it either.
Even if Laine Signed for under $9m, the Sabres have to send out Risto + at least one of Bogo, Scandella, Okposo, or Sobotka. |

These contracts are getting out of hand, not everyone will do what the players in Tampa have done. |

I wonder if that mentality sticks there with Yzerman gone.
Point could be the change in the thinking if he gets a big pay day. |

Hard to say, you have to think if they don't win the cup next year Cooper is gone and maybe they start moving pieces. Point will get paid, I doubt he takes a bridge deal. |

Seems the Jets don't want to pay Laine 10 a year, someone can't remember who on TSN said they may feel more comfortable with a bridge deal for him but not Kyle Conner. |

That’s great Patrick Laine is not going to take A bridge deal but once again you’re missing the point
And Sams probably not going to be here but that’s how the game is played |
