he is somewhere in the 5-25 range, it's really a log jam in that group

my bigger fear is one day we are going to find out gerbe collects moths, is a tailor, has a small dog and a 200 lb woman trapped in a well

It is strange that, while watching Laine play, he constantly mutters, "it puts the biscuit in the basket" with a strange look in his eye.

didn't we just buy 40 goals for 9 million? so 50 goals for 10 millions seems like a bargin...

Skinner is a more complete player. I'm not saying Skinner is a complete player, but he is more so than Laine.

Plus Jeffy boy can chirp with the best of 'em.

I'm sure it's heretical around these parts, but I'll take Skinner.

And Jeff Skinner is twice the player Laine is. That's right I said it.

Um, I don't know how I feel about that statement but OK.

He's right

Skinner is more of a complete player (not he is a complete player) than Laine

Granted both are goal scorers and Laine has a better shot but if we are talking apples to apples (which we never really are) I would take Skinner at $9 million over Laine at $10 million.

Too bad age and such makes it more of a gray area

Moxy, drive, hustle, compete and grit - yes, Skinner has grit

None of those things can be quantified either

I agree

Skinner has a little Briere in him, I remember Briere taking a beating but would always come back at someone. Briere was dirty with his stick when needed and I loved it

I don't follow bball very much, at all, but here's my outsider's view from the very little I watch. I guess watching the Westbrook show will be entertaining, but the Heat will win just as much as OKC did with him. All of these NBA stars nowadays are forming their own alliances w/their buddy (or two) and then picking a team to go in FA. None of them seem to be clamoring to team up w/Westbrook. Durant didn't want to play with him, anymore. Paul George just got the hell out of there, too. Seems like Westbrook is more concerned with his statline than he is with actually winning. As I said, I don't really follow bball, Is he as selfish as he seems to be?
- Ratsreign

I don’t think Westbrook is selfish he just cares too much he likes winning and if that Doesn’t happen he gets frustrated with people around him questioning their heart towards the game he’s just like Jimmy Butler

But I don’t disagree we’re not going to win a championship we would probably have to add one more piece but it would be nice to see playoffs again

Don't disagree with anything you said, but on an 8 year deal, I'd take Laine.

Could Gardiner be what's holding up a potential D-man trade with the Sabres?

8 year deal given their respected ages is what makes it difficult

But I would probably lean towards Laine as well

Sure now. But skinner was a disaster in his own end like Laine.

Skinner was not known for defense or hustle and was considered one dimensional as well.

Laine is young. Laine will be better than skinner.

He has all the talent to do so.

I would think so. He's a RHD that you don't have to give additional assets up for.

If Gardiner is looking for term, and it's not there, that could be the hold up.

I would think Gardiner has to sign before a move is made, or a team that is in on Gardiner doesn't want to wait.
