Same, and maybe
I'd still like to see a couple more seasons before deciding which was the aberration, the two high shooting % seasons, or last year when he shot 12%
If you're giving the max deal, you're making that decision pretty quickly - jcragcrumple
Don't disagree with anything you're saying here. Just think he's extremely likely to bounce back to 15%+. A touch above or below his career %.
I don't see him as an ideal or realistic fit here, but of course you still check in with WPG on him.

Comparing both of their 3rd years in the league, Hall blew Laine out of the (frank)ing water in all around talent and ability. - TheSabresTaco
That, and moronic trades like that are the exception, not the rule. |

Botts strategy is to acquire all the defensemen in the market and then force a team to give up their best winger/center. Genius. - IceColdBeer
*picks up 3 waiver wire guys
*puts 2 waiver wire guys and a bench player into trade for elite starter
*gets elite starter 3/5 times

Oh absolutely, but people here and on other boards for some reason hated Oft injured not very good, overpaid Taylor Hall. |

Jim Benning wants Ristolainen. So does Jeremy Rutherford and Paul Fenton. |

Argument for Skinner “playing with Eichel will raise his % and keep it there” it shows this is his Highest % to date.
Argument for Laine “his shooting is at an all time low and it could stay that way”
Seems a little off to me. - ImThatGuy
The argument for Skinner is that 13-14% while high, is something he has done, and it is not an absurd sh%
The argument against Laine is that 17-18% requires him to have the best shot in the game, literally. If you believe he does, then I get it |

I wanted Hall in a bad way. I thought way more of Risto then than I do now of course, but I still would make that trade no problem.
I'm glad we finally have a GM who can cut the cord with an underwhelming prospect. Darcy let them die on the vine and Murray just said gtfo idc |

I think we can all realistically think that Laine for Risto is a pipe dream anyway. |

And Laine for two straight years shot at above 15%.
Skinner has also shot below 10% four times. Is that not a concern.
If Laine shoots more and his shot % drops to skinner average he’d still be a 35+ goal guy. |

GMs fall in love with players not on their team, and fall out of love with players on their team all of the time. |

If they trade one of those, and work out a package involving risto to WPG, we have no problem paying Laine 9 |

Yeah, who knows where their averages settle into, I'm just not ready to board the Laine hype train.
Not that you ever said it, but Gerbe was saying:
"Ehlers with jack be rocket winner 50+"
I don't think that's true. |

Unless it's Eichel or Dahlin going the other way, there's no way he comes here without at least one first going the other way. |
