its a waste of money for both of them. If this team was good ideally you would have a fourth line of erod and cj Smith. Then you have good middle scoring bc them guys are pushed down. Larson sucks, he is lost in the defensive zone, can’t skate worth poop and sucks on face offs (50%) isn’t good. Both are losers and are what is wrong with this team. Signing these two back is a terrible mistake by Botts. My hope is they get sent to Rochester and someone claims them on waivers or are included in a Risto deal.

I think we have to recalibrate our sense of what "good" means. It's not a shot at you, but many people either think Risto is butt or he's really good.

Risto is good, and he is a #4 defenseman. He's useful in the right situation. You don't have to be a top-pairing defenseman to be good. He's a defenseman with liabilities and strengths.

That said, I think your valuation of comparables is pretty good
