Skinner was (frank)ing excellent. He wasn’t tapping in Eichel’s set ups and doing nothing g else. He caused turnovers, caused penalties. Had dominant possession numbers

Also, just the team in general was not just a 10 game streak and then the NHL’s worst team.

They were slightly above 500. for what 20 games before the streak?

We are an above average team with the moves made and if coaching is semi competent

Eichel shot poorly the first quarter of the season. Why are you inventing excuses?

Skinner generates offense at an elite level. He's more of a finisher than a set up guy. Why is that bad?

Do you think it’s a coincidence that once Reinhart jumped up on that line Eichel started scoring ? Someone who can slow the play down in the offensive zone and actually give Eichel the puck in prime scoring areas ?

Reinhart doesn’t have to score 40. If Sam plays a full 82 with Eichel he probably puts up 70-75 points and hits 30 goals, with Eichel hitting 35 goals and most likely 95 points. Skinner is a one dimensional goal scorer who pots 40 and gets 63 points. Sam has also proven he can drive his own line, Skinner drives his own production and that’s it and that’s all.

Skinner has value, he’s a bonafide top 6 forward and can bury the biscuit. He will never be worth that contract and I’m sorry in a salary cap would every penny counts.

Panarin didn’t even pot 30 this year yet got $11.65M, weird.
