Being neutral on this, I think Canadiens fans are undervaluing the superstar potential that Laine brings. They have no one close to him. He was a close 2nd to Matthews in their draft year.
Discussions I believe should start with Jesperi, Poehling and a 1st ..... at minimum.

Why would Laine ever get 10.5M????? He is the single worst 5v5 player in the NHL, and put up 6 goals in the second half of the season. I don't need to start on his playoff performances......If Aho can put up over a point per game and get just 8.7M AAV while being a dynamic C, then why would Laine get 2M more???? I would put him between Meiers contract at 6M AAV, and Aho at 8.7M AAV.

If you trade for him and ink some 70M+ contract, you will ABSOLUTELY regret it. I mean he plays with Scheifs and Wheels who are some of the leagues better playmakers. Who is going to tee him up in Mtl?
