A bit early to declare keepers and bums, no? I get the optimism based on the skill displayed, but let's all take a breath. This was a scrimmage... against prospects. Let's at least wait until actual training camp/pre-season to see how they play against some real players.
- Chunk

Indeed. People need to slow down. Wait until training camp and preseason before you start to form an opinion.

How the players from the past have dealt with being part of StanBo's "get the band back together" revolving door:

You’ve been here long enough to know all our prospects are future nhlers until we trade them!!!!!! Then and only then can we speak of any short comings in there game.
- Abadseed

No. It is the other way around. The board typically craps all over any of our guys, but once moved, they are God-like. Well, except Bolland....we got the best of him. But, the others.....

I know we have the prospects tournament and training camp to go, but I think Bovquist is better off learning against men in the AHL, then dominating in Jr's.

Winners Losers Meh at today's scrimage? Dach was my big winner from what i saw. Guy can dangle, slick mitts and can protect the puck very well with guys draped all over him.

Honestly im excited the Hawks have 2 potential stars in their system. This bodes well for the future of this franchise.

Has there been much contact in the scrimmage? Just wondering if any of these punks sniff lavender.
- mohel

Stan drafted the majority of them so if you went with "all of them", that would be a pretty safe bet, no?

Bowman pretty much outright said Boqvist was going pro this season.

Actually I think with this years squad we are going to complain more about stupid penalties than players sniffing lavender.

Probably, but it will soon be forgiven if they have one of the better PK units.

I thought our prospects are wasted draft picks by Stan; until traded, at which time they become elite (who Stan is a dope for trading).

I mean you could see the talent there. My point is temper your expectations be they positive or negative. You can't be over the moon nor trashing someone based off of 1 medium effort scrimmage.

I like the meathead/lavender sniffer balance we're going to see next year. As long as neither goes too far in either direction, they should be much improved.

he refused to listen to the staff on anything to do with his offensive game.

Oh C'mon...this has got to be 99% pure speculation, no? Correct me if I'm way off base but how could you or any other fan/writer possibly have that level of detailed insight into his interactions with the coaching staff...it's not like either of those parties involved are going to leak it.

- nikel

The Jokiharju information is 2nd hand who heard directly from someone on the Rockford staff.

Believe it or not... just don't shoot the messenger.

I like what I saw. Not mad a big centre, who can skate and play at a high skill level.

Yeah, the one thing is certain that the performances of Boqvist, Mitchell, and Beaudin help put the tissue boxes away on Henri.

And correct all:
Nylander is JUST a prospect too, albeit one who hasn't prove he can hand with the big boys fairly soon, but there is certainly lots to like with what we saw out there today.

I know they compare him to Getzlaf, to me his hands remind me more of Thornton as a big man.
